okay, i've been looking around at as many sites as possible to try to find something that would be suitable for me... and just when i thought i had found that with totallyhosted.net, i get back online to see their site and their site is down...

I've got a very very tight budget so I'd actually like to stay below $10 a month. I also want the option of going month to month and still stay below $10 a month.

is it actually possible to find a webhost that is cheap AND good??

thanks

Raji

I have found that price and service are not always tied together. Yes, there are many hosts for under $10 depending on what you need. How much space, data transfer, and other features do you require?

You should post in the Request Forum (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=32) and then do a search HERE (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php?s=) for more information on the hosts that meet your needs.

It all depends what you need as far as space and bandwidth.. For 10 bucks a month you should be able to get atleast 150megs and 5gb of bandwidth and decent support.. Willing to spend 10 bucks helps you out alot as you are not the typical person who comes here wanting 1gb of space and 100gb or transfer for $1.99 a month with a free domain.. take a look around and I am sure you will find something to meet your needs.. Good luck

Raji,

There are far too many web hosting companies that offering such a price you are looking for.

I do not have any account with the following hosting companies, but can suggest you their company instead of mine.

http://www.AlphaOmegaHosting.com
http://www.ServerSonic.com
http://www.OKIhost.com
http://www.siteturn.com/

Try to search for them here on the WHT and see what's the people's comment about them.

Wish you Lucks.

well i have to admit that i want a lot in a host... i'm very picky and even though i can find a lot of hosts that will promise many things, i want to make sure i find someone who will _keep_ their promises.

Here's what I need and why:

Space: 200 megs should be fine, but more is better.

Reliability: I will develop a bad reputation in my field if my site is down all the time! =) who wouldn't!

Traffic: 5gigs or more. I don't want someone to promise "unlimited traffic" cause that simply doesn't exist, and I don't like being offered 1000MB of space but 1gig of traffic... doesn't make sense.

CPanel: I saw it once and fell in love with it. That's the only reason

SubDomains: not absolutely necessary, but would be nice.

Support: I don't want to be left stranded when things go wrong. I want good support, that's really important.

well I think i should stop here.

Basically, what i need the most and what I look at the most is:

Space (200+)
Traffic (5Gig+)
Support
CPanel :)

Hope this helps you guys to help me! Thanks for your help so far too.

Jedito?... are my demands too high for the price i want to pay? cause if it is, i'd rather know now than kid myself into thinking that it's possible.

:)

Raji, you might want to post your request in the 'webhosting requests' section.

Host providers will be able to offer you some fabulous deals.

My site has been hosted with http://www.hostculture.com for just under four months and I haven't had any problems. :)
