Well looking over there site the only thing I noticed it that they do not give you much transfer which was a little tough for me to find and is definately something you want to think about. Also I highly suggest not paying yearly as you are stuck with that host then for a year and if you decide to leave 99% of the time they will not refund you..

I wouldnt expect a host to refund my payment for $15 for a years worth of hosting, some merchant places charge that much for doing a charge back on a CC.

MICDHosting is no longer in business, or maybe I should say no longer in legitimate business!!!!

They were supposedly acquired by and some of their accounts were supposedly picked up by a new company called Hostingcp, but not mine nor many others. Our website accounts were unrecoverable and no longer supported. Hostingcp will give us 50% off new accounts, but can't recover our websites. That's up to us to do ourselves. Support requests to MICDhosting and Hostingaccountservice were replied to by Hostingcp at first, but now there's no reply.

The domain registration info was changed recently removing the owners name and contact information and replaced with fraudulant information.

The websites for all three hosting companies are essentially the same and none have been updated since June or July. They still have a special listed that expired 31 July 2002.

I decided to take a chance and signed up with mbarron.net run by a kid (literaly), but I've got my website backed up locally, don't require a lot of support and don't rely on my websites for my livelihood so they could be down a bit without too much harm.

essentially, micdhosting was partially bought out by another group. some servers were not bought and apparently micdhosting dropped them. the new group has micd's old site and so far have yet to change anything with them.

however, i am a current customer with them and am relatively pleased with the hosting. there are a few more issues than with the old owners, but overall things are working reasonably well. my sites (all 4 of them) are online and operational with minimal downtime, response to tech takes a day or two but i won't quibble over that with the price.

yes, i will probably move once i can afford something better in terms of space and so on, but it works for me now and i have really no complaints.

This is the first company I had hosting my site... And apparently the company that bought out micdhosting was run by the same person. (Someone did a whois and noticed both the old and new hosts were registered ot the same person.)
