I turned off e-mail notification. Now I don't even get the links under my profile. If turning off e-mail notification means turning off ALL kinds of notifications, it should say so. :(

If you turn off email notification, you are no longer subscribed to any threads you reply to unless you check the box for notification when you actually reply. It is under the reply box:

Automatically parse URLs: automatically adds and around internet addresses.
Email Notification: emails sent to you whenever someone replies. Only registered users are eligible.
Disable Smilies in This Post
Show Signature: include your profile signature. Only registered users may have signatures.

That is what email notification is for, to get to know when someone replies to your post. I would rather have it on than to have to try to remember to check the box when I reply :eek:

Well... I guess I'll just have my email delete the mails then and turn on notification again. thanks anon! I wanted to make sure my email didn't get too many mails in it.

The thing that is confusing is the fact that it only talks about E-MAIL notification. The normal respons to this is that it turns off sending e-mails, NOT turning off subscription notices in your profile. I always check there to see if anyone has answered to one of the threads.

Ah well... dump the mails in oblivion instead...:D

For all the email notifications from various forums, I setup an email rule which automatically moves them to a 'Forum Emails' folder in my email client.

It may be worth looking into if the problem is your 'real' emails mixed up with your forum emails.

Yep. Turned mine off last year sometime.
Of course, I rarely remember to subscribe to thread.
But, I see enough anywho. :)
