<rant> I have a business client hosted with CyberPixels (www.cyberpixels.com).

When I first contacted CyberPixels asking them about their system etc. I explained to them that my client would be utilizing their system for BUSINESS and that their utilization of POP3 mail was critical for the operation of their organisation. They responded saying it wasn't a problem - they could support all I asked them about. TORGO, the particular server my client is hosted on continues to be on and offline at random occurences and my client is fed up error message's each time they attempt to check their mail via Outlook. In order to confirm their complaints I also have configured a account under their domain which I check roughly four (4) time's a day. On many of those occurenece the domain has been unaccessible. My client and I are using different Internet Providers.

The solution? I am looking for a new host. Next to the obvious two BEST hosts on the net (tera-byte.com and xeran.com) can anyone recommend someone cheaper who utilizes CPanel 4+ ?

I am just sick of crap hosting providers who run great for a month and then everything goes down hill... </rant>

PS:

Can someone tell me how good 'HostPacket' really is? Are they worth checking out?

TIA.

Don't always go for the cheapest option. Having said that their a plenty of reputable cpanel hosts. Just do a search on these forums :)

I agree. I'm anti-cheap at the moment.

The problem is - I can't really keep 'jumping' host with my client/s. It would be nice to find a reliable host utilizing CPanel etc. and stick with them.

When you make enquiries of a host, it might be worth asking them how long they've been around. A pedigree is often a good decision making factor. If they've maintained customers for a year or two, chances are they're doing something right.

Of course, good hosts turn bad, and bad hosts turn good, so nothing's ever failsafe, but I think if you look into slightly older hosts, you might find they'll provide a more stable environment for you and your customers.

E-mail's often a tricky nut to crack when things start to go wrong, and sometimes it's network issues. My personal opinion is that a host should utilize as many providers as possible, rather than the many instances here of hosts who just use 2 or 3.

This wouldn't be related to cyberwings, would it? :D

As Myacen said, don't always go for the cheapest option. While there are certainly good deals out there, cheap usually does not equal quality.

Modesty and the rules of this forum prevent him from saying, but Akashik.net has been around for over 2 years.:)

I'm leaning towards HostPacket.

I suppose I'll have to cross my fingers and see what happens.

I'd give Site5 a look as well. Http://www.site5.com

I used to use thier services, and I can say I was really quite pleased with their services. They seem to be a solid hosting company.

mabey try http://www.fusion3k.com/
I always wanted to try them but never did since I found out how to host my own website at home.

before you go for a host, go to www.google.ca and type in the host's name. If you see a bunch of "looks-fake" comments giving the host 5/5 then don't go for them. I've seen a lot of hosting companies posting fake-comments. Sometimes you'll see message board links that says the bad stuff about the host. When talking to a host, make sure that there Inglish is good like mines (hehe sarcasm). Hosts with poor English are not trustworthy in my experience. Sometimes they'll even delete your index.htm and replace it with a white background webpage that says bad stuff like "you people would probably die without a computer; get a life" which happened to me. If they try to offer you a vbulletin that says "SuperDuperHost Forums" instead of "vBulletin" don't go for them. Any flaw they make don't go for them. They'll end up stealing the 3000hits/day website and selling it for $700 which also happened to me. But luckily, the host was smart enough not to sell my files because the host knows that I can make him in troble for copyright infringement. Do a domain lookup. Check their .net and .com. If their addres are different don't go for them. Ask for their address on ICQ or whatever you use to talk to them and if they aren't willing enough to provide it then don't go for them.
