It all depends on what you want to do -- there's always the Sears Tower, Navy Pier (which you'll see anyway), Lincoln Park Zoo, Millenium Park, Wrigley Field, and US Cellular Field. Those are the more touristy places to visit, but if you let us know what you want to do, perhaps we can give better suggestions.

Hi,

Mainly just want to be outdoors to enjoy the nice weather, and involve walking around small area would be best, but at the same time have some activities in the area to do.

Thanks!

From Navy Pier, where the conference is, you can head north or south along the lakefront - their are paths along the beach all the way north to Evanston and south past the Museum of Science and Industry. From there, you can wander into neighborhoods and explore them, or hit most of the major museums. There are also bike rentals in the summer time along the lake if you want to ride.

I was planning on doing a little sightseeing last year, but time didn't allow for it.

The two main things on my list were Sears Tower and Buckingham Fountain in Grant Park. The fountain is one of the largest in the world, and ever hour has a 20 minute water show, then at dusk switches to a light and water show.

Of course, there's also Six Flags Great America just a 45 minute ride from the city. :D
