Not sure how to describe it - but a place where all your employees share information to eachother such as passwords etc..

Additionally, a place that keeps them informed as to upcoming updates and information. Maybe an manual on how to perform certain operations and tasks as well.

Currently we are using protected wiki software where all this info goes and I am just curious as to how everybody else keeps their employees in the loop?

gmail and skype are used for communication, has nothing to do with collaboration and management of an entire team.

Some of our utilities include:

Wiki and custom built intranet for documentation
PasswordManager Pro for sharing passwords
Exchange server for internal email
Sharepoint for common calendars/events/etc
Avaya PBX for internal voice communication
Openfire for internal instant messaging
vBulletin for internal discussion/forum

This is a great site that we use daily (6+ employees) to communicate. If you search deeper into it, I've placed a review on here and it generated some good discussion about itself and other services that do the same.

Our company uses private forums combined with the internal memo system of Help Center Live.
