Hi everyone,
I hope this is in the right forum! I have a DDNS question, one that relates specifically to namecheap.com.
I recently picked up a D-Link DIR-655 n-draft router, and by all reports it has good DDNS support. I also snagged a D-Link 323 (NAS), which also has DDNS support.
I have it working with dyndns.com currently (IP hasn't changed yet, but the 323 shows as connected to dyndns, and remote access works fine).
But, I have a couple namecheap domains parked on my hosting account, so I decided I want to use those instead. I pointed them back at namecheap's servers, set up Dynamic DNS through their domain manager, and hunted down their http:// update command... everything seemed fine. But, then I went to set up my router and/or NAS, and I couldn't get either to connect no matter what I tried in the server, host, etc. fields.
I can't find any information online about whether or not this router/NAS supports namecheap.com's DDNS implementation; has anyone set this combination up before, and if so... a little help?
Thanks!
