Anyone using Zope for designing? Was curious about the difficulty of learning it and also how it stands up to PHP or ASP.

But once, you are in full flow, its a PAIN in the, you know where. There is no documentation for it. And I mean NO documentation. There website has a lof of information, but its simply useless. Doenst make sense. Plus, I had tons of problems, with the Oracle connector for it. Bottom line : stay away from it. Dylan 03-07-2001, 09:43 PM I'll agree with kunal. X-treme 03-07-2001, 09:54 PM Thanks for the heads up guys. I will stay clear of it.. X-treme Wazeh 03-09-2001, 04:14 AM They do have an online book about zope now. It's available on http://www.zope.org/Members/michel/ZB/ I haven't done anything useful with zope yet, but it seems to be very powerful and easy to use. Much simpler than egrail yet as powerful if not more powerful. The thing I don't like about it is the setup process. So far I couldn't get it to talk to Apache ... If you want to remain in the Perl/PHP world, look at Egrail at http://www.egrail.org which is also free, written in both PHP and perl. |
