View Full Version : Paypal and Google checkout questions
Aorozco 02-20-2008, 10:01 AM Hi, i have problems now with my paypal account, is limited because have a fund problem in a CC for a bank mistake. I never realize before how much i use paypal , and how many part of my business depend of it. I am a verified with around 9 , non US, but more than 3 years in use.
By the way, i realize the frozen problems and horror storyes but the high balance i have one time was 1200 euros and transfer to my debit card without problems.
My questions here are:
1 - If one get limited account , how many time is needed for recover normal status ? i already Upload the info of the invoices they ask
2 - Some experience with google checkout in the domain business ?
As far i konw only name.com suport already ...
In other forums, they say they remove the limit in a few days
A few of the smaller new registrars use Google Checkout
gate2vn 02-20-2008, 11:43 AM I got my account limited once before without any reason. After writing them and submitting documents without any reply, I had to call them for getting my issue resolve. From my experience, Paypal staff hate to use email. They prefer calling.
Aorozco 02-20-2008, 12:01 PM I hope so. I try call but hours difference can be a pain.
About Google checkout AFAIK namecheap and qualispace and name.com accpt it.
PD: Gate2vn i begin understand why you not use paypal in the business =P
Aorozco 02-20-2008, 03:49 PM Reporting : Paypal restablished when i send a Spanish email to the spanish support team. Maybe other non Usa can do the same.
I get 4 lessons to that:
1 ) Estdomains accept too googlecheckout. I try with them for a net and tell results.
2 ) Non use proxys or SSH gateways to go with paypal or can be a red flag according a google search.
3 ) Have an alternate plan in paypal failure case is a must.
4 ) Go to 3
Aorozco 02-20-2008, 09:58 PM Final : Estdomains dont use now google checkout, then i registered my net in moniker. Stay the need of further checks in google checkouts registrars provider.
pbhosting 02-21-2008, 09:47 PM my strongest suggestion to anyone using paypal, is to run. run far far FAR away. google check out charges less fee's and the transfers to bank accounts happen almost instantly.
i only keep paypal on my site because of the large amounts of folks that still use it. im steering clear of forcing everyone to move to google, but if the fees continue to rise at paypal, sadly i will be forced to make the change.

Aorozco 02-21-2008, 10:38 PM I agree. By the way near all my customers deposit me direct in the bank, and in the few who use paypal, i use almost in the same hour. For payments to providers is my problem.
pbhosting 02-21-2008, 10:42 PM for payments to providers, i either use
a) free bill pay from my business checking account
b) bank transfers
c) sending a business check
d) google check out
e) as a VERY last resort, paypal.
paypal charges way too much for things that i can get cheaper at google. or thru my bank.

Aorozco 02-21-2008, 10:47 PM I try to not give freely my CC. And i am in Mexico, then is more difficult. My specific problem was a provider who only accept paypal, but i am rethinking my whole operation.
Google Checkout seems to be available only in USA and UK. I have an Adwords account, tried to apply
Aorozco 04-02-2008, 09:40 PM Reporting : Today my Paypal Aacocunt was blocked again, i assumed for pay some services via paypal to a chinese Wordpress Skin Maker .
Because only two of my customers payme via Paypal, i am thinking in Migrate many of my domains to name.com , Moniker and Dynadot, because with them i use My CC without problems.
