I would like to run Apache Update aka EasyApache in WHM. Will it cause any data loss to my files or databases? Will the current httpd.conf file be preserved?

What version of cPanel are you currently running? Going from cPanel 10 to cPanel 11 will cause data loss (any custom changes to httpd.conf) but if you are already using cPanel 11 then you have nothing to worry about.

As for loss to your files or databases, absolutely not... and the current httpd.conf *should* be backed up. :)

EasyApache actually backs up the httpd.conf file every time it makes changes to the file, so you should be ok, but it's always a good idea to take your own backups.
