View Full Version : Searching For WHM Master Reseller
dannycg 02-19-2008, 09:26 AM Hello,
Im currently looking around for a WHM Master Reseller, as i here they enable you to resell, resellers.
Im just wondering if anyone knows any reputable companys selling them within the below specs, or close too.
10-20GB Diskspace
300-500GB Bandwidth
cPanel/WHM/Fantastico
WHM Master Reseller
Unlimited Subdomains, FTP Accounts, Addon Domains ETC.
$5-10 Monthly (USD)
Thanks In Advance.
- Danny
PS. Hope this is the correct place to post, im still quite new to WHT :)
EDIT: / Just seen http://www.resellerscene.com/reseller.html, and http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?p=4963161, wondered if anyone has anything to say on the two?
Good or bad?
sTag-Dan 02-19-2008, 12:07 PM Your budget is extremely unreasonable. I could name you lots that sell shared accounts for that price but definitely not resellers with master reseller access/features. You'd have to double your budget to find a reliable and reputable host that does _not_ oversell.
john99041 02-19-2008, 05:12 PM Think you need to think about double or triple the budget to get a host that is not going to rip you off, I know we could never come close to that price for that kind of package
Shaw Networks 02-19-2008, 05:25 PM For ~$5 a month you should be looking at dividing those disk space and bandwidth specifications by ten. The closest match to those specifications and budget would be an unmetered VPS account from FDCServers (not the most reliable ISP).
dannycg 02-20-2008, 09:17 AM Yeah i know my budget was a bit low, i decided to go for http://resellerscene.com/, on there $10 a month plan, with 10gb space and 100GB Bandwidth, so far everythings gone OK :)
rllunzmann 02-20-2008, 09:57 PM good to know, but be sure to check up on any host you join as well.

I highly would have to say do NOT go with resellerscene. They overstuff their servers. I have had so many people switch over from them due to lack of support, horrible uptime, and slow speeds its not even funny.
I would agree with everybody else and up your budget by a long shot.

Thanks for the information; so far everything's gone OK, support reply quick but sometimes not so helpful (most likely because of my lack of explanation)
The only thing i have to moan at is the serverload is normally above 5.
What i think i'll do is continue with them for the rest of the month, if im not impressed i'll shop around again :)!
ldcdc 02-25-2008, 11:49 AM The only thing i have to moan at is the serverload is normally above 5.Looks like CrissicSolutions might have had a point there. Chances are you're put on a server that is currently being filled (deemed partially empty). If its load is 5 in its early days, as reseller continue to put sites on it, it is bound to increase.

Hmm, as im typing this now its on 4 + WHM's slow :o
EDIT: Now its above 6 :o

And you're surprised by this, why?
dannycg 02-25-2008, 12:24 PM And you're surprised by this, why?
Im not as advanced as most of you on WHT however every host i have ever been with has always had a serverload below 2 at the most.

It doesn't have much to do with being advanced, I was referring to the fact that you are on WHT, and this site has tons of information on hosts similar to one you have selected, without searching for reviews or asking for thoughts.
eric418 02-25-2008, 01:36 PM just thinking what are the possible uses of master reseller under a 10gb reseller account, any thought?

Hi Crissic,
Sorry to hear you have such a low opinion of ResellerScene. Being a previous customer, you are more than welcome to hold your own opinion, but seeing how it has been a few months since your departure, I can't say that your statements above are true. Our support is far from lacking. Our response times are usually within minutes, even at wee hours of the night. Horrible Uptime? Our uptime is always within 99.8% and above with over 50k checks of 5 minute intervals. Slow speeds? Can't say that is true either as may be your own connection from your ISP.
And you say you know so many people who have left? true, people have come and gone, but from the last time I personally spoke to those have left our company, it wasn't because any of the reasons you stated above (more or less financial reasons if anything)
So again, Sorry to hear you had a "horrible" time with us, but hopefully you've moved onto finding a new host.
Thanks
seachen 03-04-2008, 03:26 PM it is unreasonable unless your provider is doing lose money business..
jz my 2cents.

I'd work on your copy pasting skills. I never said I was a customer, I run off of dedicated servers. My last client switched from you guys because the server was constantly non-responsive, and very VERY slow. I logged in to transfer his accounts over from your servers, and it took me nearly an hour to do so with 5 accounts with just static pages on it, and this was a "Make backup" wget to my server. Server speeds from my server to resellerscene's had been rather horrible.
I am just simply voicing my opinion and saying what my current clients had stated on resellerscene.
vpsville 03-07-2008, 12:58 PM A good provider will *undersell* reseller boxes. High performance means you'll be able to retain your customers.
I don't think shopping around for the cheapest deal is a good idea if you're serious about your business. You get what you pay for.
SkyNetHosting 03-11-2008, 05:24 AM May be you want to have a look at sbc-services.com ,They do have some good offers
aiden11For a that type of requirement with such a small budget any place could be a disaster, too bad some people have to learn it the hard way.
Jerrod 03-11-2008, 08:41 AM Well, i would have to recommend Iwhic.com they have the best support, and master reseller around. I would def checking them out, they are very helpful!
I only direct them to you, because of personal experience, im afraid im not experienced with many other company's on master resellers. I hope this helps you out.
haylee 03-14-2008, 12:21 PM I came upon this thread because I was shopping around for reseller hosting for myself and some of my friends.
Then I found out what Master reseller was and just had to have it :) "Thanks resellerscene for the great explanation and guiding me on how to use it"
The reason I am Posting as 2 of the 8 or so providers I was looking at are listed in this thread
And I did my research on the two hosts and I think resellerscene is getting a unwarranted Bashing
For Crissic Solutions
Pretty Unprofessional of you to Bash a host I question you ethics ?
The same Crissic solutions that had to commit copywrite theft to get a site design (it was not hard to find)
http://freewebspace.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2200882
resellerscene Uptime 99.99% Even better than they quoted me
http://www.webhostingstuff.com/uptime/ResellerScene.html
Crissic not near as good
http://www.webhostingstuff.com/uptime/CrissicSolutions.html
Anyone can do a look up of IP history funny how one of prior your IP's is pointing to Reseller Scene
dannycq Sorry you had a bad experience I have been hosted with Reseller Scene for a better part of a week and the server load is not even near what you posted "under 2 and a lot of times under 1" I do not claim to be a server expert but a load of 4 on a quad core processor would be considered low wouldn't it ?
You said your self you did not explain your self, perhaps you should have ask them to look into it for you I did
Overall great support from resellerscene they are quick to answerer all of my questions and I have posted so many since I started.
I will be posting a 3 month review god or bad :)
vpsville 03-14-2008, 12:41 PM Its nice to see a post defending a company instead of just slamming it. Sometimes WHT just turns into a b*tch fest and the thread just shows one side of the story.
My only caution for you would be your uptime stats, they are not as impartial as you think.
k3rnd 03-14-2008, 01:06 PM resellerscene-
we had a small reseller for last 6 months and had good service from them.
good- quick response to 3 tickets: add whm mod acct feature-done, add spam/a rewrite feature-done, add jail shell- can't do.
bad- down once for short server software update. occassional late nite high cpu use, our clients are 8-5, was no problem. only left because we got better deal and already had too many plans.
iwhc-
we ended up there when hostparlor sold out after a month. they were going to honor hp reseller 1 yr plan. after about 3 days, we begged them to just set up our whm so we could move our 15 clients. two hours later we had everyone up. they seem to really try hard, but need a little more experience. after a month they announced all resellers must buy an ip at $3/mo. <>for a $25/yr plan, I don't think so.<> we cleaned the whm and walked away. I now realize we did get free ip's with the hp plan. feel they should have honored the remaining months with shared ip, wrote it off as their way to recover a bad deal hp gave them.
good luck

agree with you 100% when looking at the several hosts I was comparing the services looking for quality reviews it was bash this bash that "worthless"
With any good hosting company that has a server issue all you should do is ask them to look into it first before ranting and raving to WHT they will most likely correct it
and I see I'm not the only one who was happy with resellerscene
afhostin 03-15-2008, 02:26 PM if you can increase your budget I can suggest a well reputable company for you

iwhc should be iwhic
and, I was wrong, we still are a happy resellerscene user. We dropped another host on 2/24 for better deal and to trim plans. The time and good/bad part is accurate for our experience with resellerscene.
I just checked last night's cpu load status for our three plans:
host78 2cpus@0.81
host79 4cpus@1.47 (resellerscene)
host81 4cpus@5.17
Check if the post has a sig with their hosting company ;-) Obviously, no one will ever be as good as their service.
I keep negative attitude in mind when checking the shared host reseller offer forum.

Probably Not Anon,
Found it quite odd that his/her first post was in this thread just to say that..
Unless he/she would love to chime in to defend their opinion :)
dannycg 03-16-2008, 07:09 AM Guys,
I NEVER said ResellerScene was bad, for it's price it's very good value, all i said was the server load was often high and sometimes slow, there is probably a simple explanation for that, but 'tru1' please don't think i made this thread just to bash and for others to bash resellerscene :)
Not a problem Danny,
We understand you didn't make this post to bash on us.
We're just looking into the other posters and why they have low opinions of RS.
We're always trying to actively better our reputation and standing within the hosting community :)
