View Full Version : Best reseller hosting?
TrinityIce 02-18-2008, 10:07 AM Hi,
I have to look for a good reseller hosting, but I don't know which one is the best one.
Please don't mention DownTownHost or InnoHosting.
Besides this two, any other good resellers around?
ipokkel 02-18-2008, 10:11 AM TrinityIce, could you please elaborate on what your requirements are, e.g., space, bandwidth, price range and additional features. This will assist other members to make relevant suggestions.
TrinityIce 02-18-2008, 10:18 AM I have very simple requirements, that is all.
Usual reseller specs should be fine.
The only I ask, is this.
The host needs to operate silently in the background.....no fuss....no issues...no downtimes. A few minutes is quite ok.
But not downtimes of hours at a time.
Sometimes, problems cannot be avoided, that is understandable.
BUT
A good host must also understand, that being a good host means operating in the background, and not for us needing to open support tickets...the less support tickets you need to open...the better the host....
And I have experience with many hosts by now... :o Believe me.
TrinityIce 02-18-2008, 10:31 AM Any other names besides DownTownHost and Inno? I just mention this two because they seem to get good reviews, but I hope there are other good reseller hosts as well.
I'm open to alternatives.
Oh yeah, price should be 15-20 bucks, and no more. Also, space and bandwidth...usual specs.....5 Gb space and 50-100 Gb bandwidth....nothing special. Just recommend a few names to me which I may not know of.
Things I look out for: Good customer service, fast connection, and reliability ( You take care of my hosting, I take care of my sites). I don't ask for anything more...
Simple enough?
You'll be surprised, most hosts are not able to keep their end of the bargain....
dhcart 02-18-2008, 10:42 AM Did you try Hostdime or Surpasshosting? I recommend them. The uptime of the servers are good. Support is fast and friendly. They provide a lot of free tools such as RVSkin, Fantastico, WHMCS, Site Builder... etc.
theycallmepj 02-18-2008, 10:45 AM Site5 gives you a pretty good deal. I've used both Site5's shared and reseller hosting for years and they've been great too me. The Customer Support is very helpful and they respond quickly, I think the entire time I've used their service, I can remember only one moment of downtime which i don't think lasted more than 15 minutes.
I've also used WestNic for a reseller host and I have had no problems with them.

I've heard of Site5 having problems since 2006, how has it changed since?
Did you try Hostdime or Surpasshosting?
I did check out Surpasshosting, but ..... $1 for one year? And Hostdime is a bit too high for my budget.
Thanks anyway.
hsphereclub 02-18-2008, 11:34 AM I would suggest as a reseller to go with an H-Sphere Clustered Hosting account. If you search google for "hsphere clustered hosting" you should be able to find a few out there.

How can you say that without knowing the requirements of the user?

Its meant as merely a suggestion to the topic. To elaborate more H-Sphere clustered hosting is a good choice for not only do you get you services on separate boxes but h-sphere includes a billing system, trouble ticket system, etc. If anyone is interested in learning more you can view H-Sphere's features HERE (http://www.psoft.net/promo/) .
theycallmepj 02-18-2008, 12:38 PM I don't know what your requirements are, but if you do not already have those features setup, I would look for a web host that provides a client billing system for free, unless you plan to buy or make one yourself. I would also try to find a host that gives you an enom account or something similar so you can start selling domains without putting a lot of money down first.

Site5 was one of our previous hosting providers. Their support is too slow(average response time is more than 24 hours) and unfriendly. They cannot resolve problems quickly. The uptime of the servers are too bad.
I did check out Surpasshosting, but ..... $1 for one year? And Hostdime is a bit too high for my budget.
This is a promotion for power shared hosting plan until 2/28/08(it is not for reseller plans). Surpasshosting is a member of Hostdime family. Their services are very similar. But Surpasshosting doesn't provide phone support and Hostdime services a little better. We have a lot of accounts on both of them for years and could not find better company yet.

Ah ok, good suggestion :agree:

A lot of the hosts you've mentioned offer free trials. Have you considered contacting some of those hosts to get a free test drive?
