One of my Mailman lists was trashed when the hosting company updated CPanel.
When I asked if we could be notified before CPanel is upgraded, to allow for testing and back-up, I was told it happens twice a week?
Is that right?
Is that patches or new features?
In my day job we test new software for weeks before upgrading to be sure nothing untoward happens, unless there are security implications requiring immediate fixes.

Actually it depends on the host and how they have setup their update preferences with WHM.

Most people have cPanel set up to do updates on a nightly basis . (There may not be any updates that night though). But if you admin the machine, you can change that if you want.

So they take automated updates to production machines without testing???
That is scarey.
