I want to get a reseller account, but I'm not sure where to go. I'm looking for at least 3 gb space with a good amount of bandwidth. I also need excellent uptime. I'd prefer not to spend more than $20-25 a month, as its more for personal use as opposed to actually reselling.
I'm currently with a company for regular hosting, but half the time things end up being more of a hassle than they're worth.
Any recommendations for me? All input is appreciated.

A lot of resellers around that can fit your budget quite well..
But some things worth mentioning to get better suggestions would be:
- define "good amount of bandwidth"
- Any particular control panel
- any certain features the host must have
- what control panel are you currently using? (may be helpful as you are migrating hosts)..
You can have a look at the offers forum to get a general idea of hosts you can choose that match your criteria. Then perform some searches here and on Google (or whichever search engine you prefer ;)) to see reviews and experiences others have had with that company.
Make a shortlist and begin contacting them with questions to get a feel of the company..
Make sure you ask lots and lots of questions. Get everything out the way so you sign up with confidence.
Ensure you read the TOS (Terms of Service) too :agree:
Good luck on your search :)

As rameen said get a good idea of what you want and then have a look around and talk to any potential hosts (live chat, email, sales tickets) and get a feel for them and then pick the one you want.
If your not sure ask them if they do a money back garuantee (should be listed on their site.) That way if your not happy you can leave and find another.
Do let us know how you get on when you find someone.

As a client i will give you my recommendations who i use;
1) i have a reseller with prontohost.net for a few months now with very good uptime and excellent support with tickets answered promptly. There prices are very good and sometimes you can pickup a special in the section that promote resellerhosting on WHT . i can honestly not think of any issues i have had with Prontohost during this time.
Last week one of my clients websites crashed because of something they did and i couldn't figure out the problem. Not knowing what to do i contacted Kevin for advice. Without delay he handed the problem over to Nic that got the site working again. To be honest i didn't even expect them to do that as it was not a server problem but my client that messed up
One thing i do like is that they have ASSP deluxe installed on the server i am using and no more spam
i mainly have all my site i designed on this reseller and if you want to check performance here is some www.epropnet.co.za (http://www.epropnet.co.za) and www.iconcoins.co.za (http://www.iconcoins.co.za)
2) i also have a reseller with Scalahosting.com i have the smaller reseller and i haven't had any issues. i can say this is the first hosting company i have used that offer true 24/7 live support and most of the time you problem is sorted while you are on live support.
For me every time i needed support they were online. They show a 8 core processor that is running very fast (not sure how that works)
i am aware there are other hosts out there but i trust my sites with these guys and i have a few client that is fussy and they are happy as well

What sort of websites are you looking to host and what sort of hosting features are most important for those websites? Your ideal host will depend on what sort of features you need most.

As part of WHM members, we suggest that you take a look at offer section. Find out 5 hosts that matches your requirement and post on this thread again to ask for users for these hosts. To find out domains that are actually hosted under these hosting providers are important to us. We can use these actual users' domains to test speed and monitor uptime performance so at least we know how these hosts do before we already pay for experiments (especially important if you are thinking to become a reseller. You are selling your host to clients and your clients need a stable and fast hosting experience).
Yea for sure you can also listen to other members' experiences on WHT, but what would be better than testing and monitoring actual websites hosted under these hosting providers and using your own judgments?
Once you have made up your mind for a particular host, do not go for longer terms (we suggest to try monthly payment) and do not give out your credit card information directly to your host. The reasons for that is you never know when these hosts will go bad and become a terrible experience of your time and money.
Good luck searching.
