Ive seen alot of people offering this alpha master reseller specially on digitalpoint and never really got it?

i take it its the ability to create master resellers but i couldnt understand how people can offer it, i have master reseller installed on my server, when i enable a account with master reseller privileges, theres not a option from there panel to create more master resellers so how do they do it?

any one care to explain?

its a 3rd party script - more pain than benefit IMHO

Could you link us to where you are seeing these offers. Is it just some sort of sub-reseller script?

Here is a example

http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=691524&highlight=alpha+master+reseller

i dont think it is third party software i think they give people acess to deasoft master reseller, but as if they were a root account

i have deasoft master reseller on my server the only account able to give master reseller is root, when you give reseller the master reseller option there master reseller panel is different to the roots panel, the only way i could figure out them doing it is if they gave them a different level of shell access.

why would any one give alpha master reseller if they would have that much control to function in effect as a 'root'

the deasoft product is the 3rd-party app I was talking about :P

To sucker in the unwary to a shoddy service by building false expectations, then vanishing off the planet with the money would be my guess :)

What i ment was they are in affect giving them 'root' privilages over master reseller not the standard privilges you should get

after reading up i dont think alpha reseller exists all it is from what i gather is that it is reseller status but then you have to ask the host to create a master reseller account for you

I read up on this one and it does exist. There is a feature in WHM where you can give a reseller the power to resell reseller accounts but the only problem is that the master reseller can easily oversell without the host even knowing.

Yes i know how to give people acess to provide reseller accounts with deasoft script but alpha reseller is one above that giving people the ability to resell master reseller.

you can check a button to stop people overselling in whm/reseller center and master reseller and you can install xen

Theres not such a thing like that.
I tried that before,i saw this before in suntexhosting and another host that i dont remember the name :stickout:
I tried it with suntexhosting, there is nothing like that.It supposed to let you create master reseller accounts, like in a VPS or something like that, but its supposed to be automatically, and not. Everytime that you want to create a master reseller account, you first have to make a reseller account. Then its supposed to change automatically in 30 mins, you have to put it in a specific plan that the owner creates, but no, i had to notify the owner, then more than 12 hours pass and then when they see the emails, they change it, but you dont have any more control of them.
So its false...and it sucks...
Just think...a host that sells unlimited plans with unlimited space and bandwidth.Theres no such a thing...and why it doesnt appears in they Web?

Think is more than enough for me.

EDIT:And sorry if its a old thread but its important info.

I think this is an option in Deasoft's newest version of whmreseller.

Honestly, I disregard all offers/requests for master resellers on DP. More often than not, people think that they can immediately start a hosting company by getting a 'master reseller', which is laughably ridiculous.

So now it's possible to have...

Server Company > Server Reseller > Dedicated Server Customer > Alpha Master Reseller > Master Reseller > Reseller > End User

I feel sorry for the end user at the end of that chain. :(

Also, it's worth noting that the Deasoft software has so many bugs and issues with it that it's not even funny. There's an issue at the moment where master resellers can't even create resellers. So, some hosts out there are selling a service which don't even work.

Not true !

I am the developer of WHMreseller - the software that creates Master Resellers. I would just like to correct some errors and guess work in this thread:

- Firstly I would like to kill this Myth that WHMreseller is still full of bugs. It is not and this recent account creation error has been totally fixed and was done so about a week ago. I will explain this bug so people realise how minor it actually was. WHMreseller was reading in package names incorrectly when there were spaces in the package name. For example if a package was called "bobby_MasterReseller Plan", WHMreseller was reading it as "bobby_MasterReseller" - it didn't allow spaces. It was a very minor bug and its totally solved now. The software is running very smoothly now and we are constantly improving it.

- I don't know anything about a "Alpha reseller" software system and we have nothing to do with any such system. I doubt it even exists.

- WHMreseller does backups of everything it touches on a server. Only 3 times now (over 2+ years) have we made use of these backups to fix a clients installation.

- We are planning on a big new release of WHMreseller V4 sometime this year with some big feature addons. So things are only going to keep improving for WHMreseller !

People prefer being able to not only sell shared accounts from a reseller, but also more reseller accounts, it makes them look like a bigger company, that, to the unknowing public, owns/runs servers. It's a clever idea, and I think cPanel should really have such a feature built in.

Nice idea! We can let cPanel developers know about WHMreseller and it's capabilities :)

I think in coming days we will have this news that WHMreseller is acquired by cPanel for a few hundreds of thousands $$ ;) I salute deasoft for the revolutionary product.

This is exactly correct, there is a script but you would be mad as a host to install it. The best way to explain alpha master reseller accounts is:

A Master Reseller account utilising WHMReseller from Deasoft.
With the added bonus of being able to have Root upgrade a reseller to Master Reseller for you. This is done by raising a ticket through customer support.

In effect it is a 'buy on get many free' offer for Master Resellers

I would also be interested to know if there is an alternative to deasofts whmreseller. I love the software, it is a great idea. But this guys support is none existant. I have submitted a few tickets before and had no replies. In fact, months ago i submitted a license transfer request and have yet to recieve a reply. We decided not to use WHMreseller on our new server for this very reason, what is the point in asking for the license to be transferred if he is just going to ignore you?

DeaSoft, if you are going to create a good script, at least be prepared to support it too...

We are handling support quite well lately actually. What are your ticket numbers?

This is an easy option to do. It has been done since late 2006. By making a package in your billing software to create a master reseller. Set the auto create option in the master reseller script. Give the billing link to your resellers that are alphas.
