Short Names, your probably wondering what the heck I mean by that. Example, William becomes Bill.
Well, for a good portion of my life, most people I know refer to me as 'Jay'. So, should I use that name more often? To get an idea, my father, grandfather, and a great-grandfather are all named John.. :)
Also, anybody else refered to with a short name?

Unfortunately, my name (Manuel) doesnt allow me to have short names except for Manny, which I really hate being called. Luckily, I am a Jr. (Junior), so my family and close friends call me Jay-R

Mine is a one syllable sound so it isn't shortened... the only time it differs is when people decided to add words to it... :D

My name has 2 syllabus, but people insist on lengthening it instead :D
So now I use my pen name - another 2 syllabus Japanese word. And you know what - people are still insisting on lengthening it ;) Must be a new "in" thing to do...
