I have never heard of this before, and my host is clueless. Starting this morning some people can get to my site, and some in other parts of the country can't. I can't go to my site by entering the URL, but I can by entering the IP address (216.253.203.78). Can anyone offer any advice?

The reason for not seeing it by IP could be because your account is on a shared IP address. If so, then no, you wont see your site on that IP.

As for some people being able to see it and others not, that could be a number of reasons. If you have recently moved your site, then the DNS propegation through the world's name servers may not have completely updated yet, or there could be a network issue on one of the backbones somewhere, meaning that people in some places (who don't use that backbone at all) can see your site, while others can't.

It can take a up to a few days for DNS to completely resolve around the world (usually only one to two days though), so if you can still see your site through the domain name, give it another 24 hours. If after 24 hours, other people still can't see your site, contact your host for help.

As a side note, if you are talking about the domain listed in your info here, then I can see your site. I'm in Australia.

There's a routing loop that's screwing everything up...look at all the hops!

<edit> looks like that's fixed now...ip's working now from here</edit>

based on the above dnsreport, the domain hasn't fully propagated as yet, Or you have serious DNS issues (your not in the nameserver)

Name Server: FIREBIRD.SAT.NET
Name Server: RAVEN.SAT.NET

Are you sure those are the right nameservers?

Yes those are the right name servers. My host is a mom & pop that buys bandwidth from someone called sat.net.

Seems to be a problem with your registrar. The authoritative nameservers aren't even being offered by the root servers.

Are you sure you weren't late paying your domain registration renewal with your registrar? :)

Thats what I would bet my money on. Someone forgot to pay the registration bill. Those dates are too close to not have something to do with it all. :)

I did forget to pay. I gave them a hotmail address and then I never check hotmail. Didn't get the email that it was time to renew. I called support and got a real person on the first ring (at midnight) and got it straightened out. When I first saw the problem, I checked to se if the domain name was still good, (whois) and it appeared to be, so I started looking for the problem elsewhere.
Rember the story a couple of years ago when Microsoft didn't pay for renewal and someone paid it for them? Made the news. All he got for his help was reimbursement of his $60.
