A small forum. Got around 200 posts, 50 members and 50 threads in the first 4 days of its launch. I want more people coming through.
I want to advertise on a certain website and they offer two choices. Pay by view or pay by click.
A click would be for 20 cents or 1000 impressions for 20 cents.
What would you recommend I choose? Maybe with these 1000 impressions I get 50 clicks or maybe none. Or do I go with the guaranteed but more expensive solution?

I'd go for 1000 impressions for 20 cents, just my opinion.

Why not run an ad for a week or two and see 1) how many impressions you get 2) how many clicks you get 3) how many sales you get from clicks. That should allow you to decide if you need to switch to a different accounting method or even if your advertising dollars are worthwhile at that particular forum.
*edit* By the way, a 1:20 ratio is unlikely (unless you have the best ad ever). ;)

My thought too that's why I needed some more experienced people to advise me.

True I might try that I just don't want to go over the already set budget. My forum doesn't make money at all, so I'm not concerned with sales. Just want more activity.
Any other advice ?
