Something new to not look forward to. Luckily I only get that from my provider. :-( To the OP: Sorry I really dont know of any companies out there for this. Since this is Opt-in, would it not be possible for your users to select their company, and then contact as many of the phone companies that they list that you can find and find out if they have an email to SMS set up? There is probably websites out there that already give you that information. Hope that made sense. Best of Luck! donika 02-06-2008, 11:13 AM SMS Spam... Something new to not look forward to. Like you can put it to good use like following up clients or keeping in touch with friends. How much does an SMS cost at your place? Thanks in advance. Regards, Steve Panopta 03-10-2008, 10:49 AM There are a number of companies that provide SMS gateway service, including Clickatell, (http://www.clickatell.com) BulkSMS (http://www.bulksms.com), GoLive Mobile (http://www.golivemobile.com) and UpsideWireless (http://www.upsidewireless.com). They handle establishing connections with the various mobile companies, and provide a single gateway to all of them. Most have web-based forms, email-to-SMS and developer APIs for sending messages, and charge on a per-message basis. I haven't seen any unlimited plans - I doubt you'll find someone that's truly offering that. We've worked with both Clickatell and BulkSMS and haven't had problems with either. Panopta 03-10-2008, 10:51 AM Also, there's a pretty extensive directory of email-to-SMS addresses for various providers at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SMS_gateways#Email_to_SMS_.2F_Web_to_SMS acctman 03-10-2008, 03:36 PM use email to txt... phonenumber@carrier.tld Henrik 03-10-2008, 04:47 PM Hi, Not all people use SMS for Spamming. Thanks in advance. It varies quite a lot, from around 0,60 sek to 1,50 sek - depending on the operator / package. (There are 4 operators having their own networks (where-as Tele2&Telia Sonera share UMTS networks as Telia Sonera didn't get a license at the license-auction that was held back in the day) You can also buy pre-charged SMS-packages that are around 10 Euro per month to send "unlimited" SMS (around 3000/5000 SMS limit) domestically. Then one sub-brand of the operator Telia Sonera called "Halebop" has an offer where one can send 300 SMS all across the globe during 30 days if you charge your card with at least 300 sek at once. Sending SMS abroad can be a very expensive affair if you don't look at the pricelists before you join an operator. use email to txt... phonenumber@carrier.tld That is a north american model I think, in other places this is an "added value service" that costs extra and has to be opted-in to. Dan_EZPZ 03-10-2008, 06:28 PM We use ClickaTell to send SMS alerts to notify customers of unexpected downtime. Their rates are pretty good and you can set it up so that clients can text a keyword to their number and they'll be added to the mail list. Henrik 03-10-2008, 06:38 PM Hello mate, We use ClickaTell to send SMS alerts to notify customers of unexpected downtime. Their rates are pretty good and you can set it up so that clients can text a keyword to their number and they'll be added to the mail list. Have you divided your SMS sendout-list per server (for example) segments, so that every sendout is relevant to the customer in question? |
