lEduardo 02-04-2008, 04:40 AM Got one, lets see how it works. I will post my review in one month.
Kaumil 02-04-2008, 05:23 AM I've gone ahead and activated the service for you.
Kaumil 02-04-2008, 06:21 AM Btw, resellers are welcome! Contact me directly if you want to get set up with a reseller account.
Adam-AEC 02-05-2008, 04:49 PM Signed up.
Web interface is a bit slow, but server I am on barely has any load and tons of free space.
Looks promising.
Kaumil 02-05-2008, 07:08 PM I've also noticed this and have let the admins know about it to see if we can speed it up.
Yogesh Sarkar 02-06-2008, 06:20 AM Would like to know more about this, I have shared reseller hosting account and I am looking for a backup service. Can you please let me know how this backup system would work and how many websites can I backup using one account and what would be needed at host's end to enable this to work.
Kaumil 02-06-2008, 03:55 PM Well, how do you currently backup your files? It depends on the host and if they allow rsync to be used. Otherwise, you can simply FTP or SCP your backup files to our service. You can fit as many accounts as you'd like within your space limitations with us.
So the 20GB pack with us, will allow 20GB worth of backup files.
Yogesh Sarkar 02-07-2008, 06:59 AM Right now I am manually backing up my sites, I will ask my host if they allow rsync or not.
As for backing up data through ftp, would that have to be done manually or can it be setup to happen automatically?
portalgod 02-07-2008, 06:18 PM How scalable are the plans? If I get a 20GB, but in a month or two need more space, do I need to jump all the way to 100GB? or can i get another 20GB added?
portalgod 02-07-2008, 06:20 PM bcmtouring, you can use a cron job to tar.gz up all your files, and another cron job to ftp it to your backup server.
I do exactly that right now with my other backup service.
Kaumil 02-07-2008, 06:53 PM Just let us know and we'll go ahead and upgrade you. It will be a seamless upgrade.
Kaumil 02-09-2008, 06:20 AM Due to the crazy response we have received from this offer, we have temporarily suspended all new reseller accounts from being provisioned.
Normal accounts are still welcome to sign up.

Yes, however, the discount only applies to the existing packages. Any additional storage space will be sold at retail cost listed at our web site. So the additional 10GB will cost $2.50 per month. Sign up through our order form, then submit a ticket to sales@vistapages.com and we'll take care of the additional storage for you.
I am signing but there is a problem with your billing system
We're manually applying the package price after the sign up is made.
Pmed You.
Waiting for the response.
Responded.
James Peter 02-10-2008, 01:33 AM Hello,
Are you reselling the backup services from any others? Since you're charging normal prices for Special Quotes. Just a Question.
Cheers!
grandad 02-10-2008, 10:01 AM Keeps rejecting my 8-digit password so cannot signup :(
All lowercase and alphanumeric but won't accept it,(pain anyway having arbitrary 8, why not 8-12 or something).
James Peter 02-10-2008, 10:08 AM Hello,

It looks like WHM/cPanel is being used to manage quotas and users.
I logged in to the shell and there is plenty of free space on the system.

As another customer mentioned, we use it to manage our users. Yes, that's what our reseller service is like. Overselling? No, I don't think so.
grandad 02-11-2008, 03:42 AM PM me and I'll sign you up manually.
Works now!
Kaumil 02-11-2008, 08:12 PM Great! Welcome aboard.
eztiger 02-13-2008, 01:18 PM Do you offer samba/smb access?
What sort of connectivity do you have (in terms of speed) ?
Any chance of a test file?
Millar 02-14-2008, 01:32 PM Will the cost of my package be frozen for the life of the account?
Kaumil 02-22-2008, 04:53 AM The special is now over. Thank you for those who have signed up!

Bumping an old thread.
I don't think this service is ready for prime time yet. Backups went fine, lots of space, no out of space errors, but support just isn't there.
Invoice was generated March 31st. Payment was made same day. I received an outstanding invoice notice a few days later, so I emailed support@vaultarray.com & billing@vaultarray.com as well as sent a PM to Kaumil (just in case).
Of course, another outstanding invoice notice arrived a few days later, so I shot off another email, and also dropped in to Vistapages live chat to say 'hey! tell Kaumil to look at his PMs'.
Not a few days later...
[Payment Reminder] Dear Adam, This is reminder #4 for due payment for services provided by VaultArray. Notice: Your account has been terminated for non-payment. Invoice Amount : $2.00. Invoice Due Date : 2008/04/05. Thank you, VaultArray.com

Account was still active last I checked on the server, but Modernbill shows cancelled. Not risking leaving my data there (it was encrypted anyways), so rm -rf'd everything and back to storing it on my backup server on-site.
Not upset over losing $2 of course, just wanted to give Kaumil & team a chance considering the flack they get around here. It is just too bad things didnt' work out in the end.
WindsOfChange 06-09-2008, 11:40 PM Hello, VaultArray will be ceasing operations at the end of this week, Friday June 13, 2008. All files will be deleted after this date. Customers will not be billed for further service. Thank you for your support and past business. Sincerely, Kaumil Patel VaultArray

They either weren't billing me, or were issuing reminders for bills unpaid, despite the fact I'd paid them
I also got the ceasing operationg email to
MH-2006 06-29-2008, 07:08 AM Is this offer still available or has it ended?
