View Full Version : Looking for a VDI reseller (I think)

Greetings,

I have been setting up my web hosting page to get ready for reselling. My focus is on current design and development clients in Minneapolis. I'm looking for a reseller whose hosting plans I can resell.

I am not interested right now in a dedicated server or colocation, because my primary business is design and development. I also have several commercial websites that I own and operate.

I need a set of plans that will start out at under $5 (for static but not dedicated IP, and about 20 MG, 20 pop boxes or so, etc.) up to a plan that will have a couple hundred MG and unlimited Pop boxes for under $20 per month.

I nee PHP and mySQL (preferably on all the account). And I need it to be fast here in Minneapolis, since most of my clients are in Minneapolis and sell to clients in Mpls.

I will nt use any Alabanza resellers, since the speed seems to be a bit bad in Mpls.

Maybe this is too much information, but if anyone has ideas, I'm open to them.

Until people start recommending their hosts, you may want to check out this thread that lists many of the hosts here (warning- quite long at this point, heh)...

http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=3053

VDI hosts who offer reselling are listed (for the most part).

Venturesonline.com should be the one for you. They have a great rep. of support too.

I am in the process of transfering accounts from web2010 to venturesonline. The support and price at VOL is great. I have had several dumb server configuration questions, nothing urgent, the past few days and all the responses have been within a few hours. You will love working with Webhost Manager and cpanel!

One of the accounts I am transfering has a small gallery of thumbnails. Here are the two links to see the speed difference of the hosts.

Web2010: http://www.rockphoto.com/portfolio/index.htm

VOL: http://www.vosn.net/~rocphoto/portfolio/index.htm

Good Luck,
Bubba

Thanks for the infor everybody. I especially like the listing the the moderator pointed me to. But there are a lot of listees there that don't list their NOC. Overall, though VERY HELPFUL.

Thanks!!

I also would say venturesonline is the way to go if you want VDI, if you want Alabanza I would go with hostingmatters.com

Well I'd probably wait a little longer than 2-3 weeks before I'd call it a 'reputation' for great support. :)

I agree with Greg,

It takes more than a few weeks to conclude they are great. All companies are gung ho when they start up. It will be interesting to see how things are going in 6 to 8 months, and a larger customer load. A reputation is built over time... not a week.

They do seem to be getting a good start though.

just another option...

try also http://www.wizardshosting.com . The owner, Carlos frequents this board a lot... They have a pretty nice reseller deal too. I am not sure whether the reseller package is already up on the web, but you can contact him about his reseller package...

cheers,

I just went to VO website, and it says it started in 1997, sorry, I'm not familiar with VO myself (I'm one of those switching, probably into VO, from CWI, which SUCKS), how is it new?
