After months of fighting this company against their ripoff tactics, their disgusting treatment of clients and poor business performance I believe I have found a way to make our prescence known, as I know a lot of people as well as me have had great trouble with this company and its unethical practises.

I now have a direct number to the person that rents Digitalvisionhostings servers, I had a chat to her on the phone today and she was most interested to hear about the complaints.

Obviously the more people that complain directly to her, the more chance we have of getting this person shut down as he should not be allowed to take peoples money and not supply a service, then email them profanity abuse.

I am not sure if it is ok to post the number here, so if anyone would like to pm or mail me Id be happy to discuss it with them then.

Beware of www.digitalvisionhosting.com (http://www.digitalvisionhosting.com)

I am not sure about the legality of the hosts server provider playing judge / jury and cop over a clients complaints. Can't you just move on with a statement about your experience?

Ive tried that but hes been harrassing since september sending random emails with threats in because i made a statement on a technical forum about my experiences.

Thats why I feel so strongly about it.

Why don't you just leave then? Sounds like a no win situation. Going behind their back to their provider seems like you are stirring up a real bees nest of retaliation.

When you pay for a service, you expect one, or at least a refund if it doesnt work out. What you dont expect is that person to use whatever tools come with their reseller, to trace fmaily members and start harrassing them because you made a statement outlining their poor service, and abusive manner.

If everyone walked away from everything, noone would ever stand up for the consumer and what is right. Just because these are electronic goods, doesnt mean to say that these people are beyond the law, because they offer a poor service, get slated for it, and then retaliate like a child.

I suspect i am not the only person that this 'reseller'' has done this too. But i shall be the last because its not only unethical business practice, he is also bordering on breaking the law.

If its getting to this level your best option is to engage law enforcement as it sounds like they are breaking a number of laws.

Unfortunately ive tried that. Digitalvisionhostings provider lives in japan where there is not only a language barrier to overcome, but international law wont touch it because of its irrelevance compared to other crime. Mr Collinson who rungs it knows this very well, because he has mockingly said so in several emails when i have threatened legal action.

So I concur, the only way to deal with the situation is to take the bull by the horns and to try this avenue. Obviously Im not expecting great things, but even if he gets a warning from them, or a suspension, it may make him realise that the internet is not a place to harrass people because you have a critisim of your work outlined on a technical website.

What type of emails are they sending you?

This is a list of things that have happened since Sept 2007

1. Sent me harrassing emails saying i was wrecking his business and he was going to come to england and 'stab me through the heart' and other such threats.

2. Obtained my phone number and full address, as a seller he must somehow be given access to the electoral roll or an address verifier, i dont see how else he could have found this out. Pretty much the same, threats until i changed my number.

3. Obtained a list of people with the same surname as me in my immediate postcode area, and started ringing them. Oh hes also rung my neighbours a couple of times shouting abuse about me and making no sense to them atall. This is why i am sure his host account gives him some kind of access to this information. I cant understand how he is getting it otherwise.

To protect myself ive had to change bank account and phone numbers, so have a couple of my immediate relatives. Its been a nightmare all over hosting problems.

I hope this puts straight why i feel so strongly about it, id prefered not to say as it sounds so bizarre.

Actually, as a moot point perhaps someone can answer this for my own curiosity. As a seller, www.digitalvisionhosting.com (http://www.digitalvisionhosting.com) .... does this person have the tools to track addresses? I still dont know how he did it. For example access to address verifiers, or electoral rolls of any kind?

... 'stab me through the heart' ...Sounds like a death threat to me.

Obtained my phone number and full address.Stalking and harassment.

Obtained a list of people with the same surname as me in my immediate postcode area, and started ringing them. Oh hes also rung my neighbours a couple of times shouting abuse about me and making no sense to them atall. This is why i am sure his host account gives him some kind of access to this information. I cant understand how he is getting it otherwise.See above.

Why on earth are the police not taking this seriously? Have you informed them you are recieven death threats?

When he rings you make a note of the date and time he rang you, and a basic outline of what he said, and take it to the police. The should be able to help you.

Its the fact hes in a different country, despite being a British citizen, judging by his english accent in the calls. Thats the problem.

I have yet to hear from his server provider too

Hi Dan
sounds like there are several issues going on here,
the following may help a little.
If your living in the UK you are protected by UK law.
You should also be protected by the data protection act, trade discription act etc.
Consult either a lawyer & or the CAB - NOW, don't wait any longer
& don't believe his statements re. the law, he's bluffing I'm sure.
Hopefuly, he's also bluffing about harming you, it's just intimidation to get you to back off.
Now I don't mean to be or sound rude, and I don't like saying it, but backing off may be the wisest thing to do, sort of family above pride.

With regards to 'your info' he has 'gained'
a. surely when you 'signed up with him, or paid him, you had to give out your information.
b. If you have any domains that he is aware of, he (as can anybody) can & prob. has done a 'whois' check, which unless you have 'protected' info, provides some basic info. re the owner of the domain.

Please permit me to repeat:
Consult either a lawyer & or the CAB - NOW, don't wait any longer
also - The CAB is free in the UK
for your peace of mind I urge you to do this NOW

Hope it gets sorted.

ps. maybe best not to talk/deal with the server provider, your 'contract/agreement', is not with them.

After months of fighting this company...

The only advice I could give, is if you run into this situation again -- don't wait months to leave.
