I believe most of the web hosting providers they are using Linux based servers, due to stability, ability, reliability. My vote for UNIX. Well, when the nurse comes by, tell her I said 'Nevermind'. :D shaunewing 08-13-2002, 12:24 AM We use Redhat Linux on all public webservers. Our main office has a Redhat server doing gateway, fileserver and intranet. Second office has a FreeBSD server doing the gateway, fileserver and intranet. There are also a few assorted servers running Debian, etc. but they're for development. AnonymousCow 08-13-2002, 08:51 AM All of my linux boxen run Debian, by far the most advanced distribution (imho, anyway). I also have servers running HP-UX, Solaris, and FreeBSD.. Santoman 08-13-2002, 09:04 AM I don't see OpenVMS in this list?! It runs Apache!!! :) Oh well, I guess it's an OS that will never take off in the internet world... :bawling: Steve - Who is running Red hat linux on his servers and Win2k |
