View Full Version : Reseller for TLD's including uk?
blacknight 08-12-2002, 05:20 PM Hi,
I'm exploring possibilities as a couple of customers made enquiries recently...
I'm looking for some kind of domain reseller program with
-API??
-free or inexpensive setup
-branding or at least customisation of pages
- all standard TLDs plus some European ones (preferably .co.uk, .it and .es if possible)
Any suggestions?
Rochen 08-12-2002, 08:06 PM I would recommend the following domain companies:
http://www.opensrs.org
http://www.enom.com
http://www.dotster.com
http://www.godaddy.com
I believe OpenSRS and Enom require deposits, although this money is given back in the form of domain credits and I believe GoDaddy charge a membership fee. Dotster don't charge any initial setup fee (currently). There are many more companies which offer domain reseller services which I haven't listed, but I am sure someone else will :)
I'm not sure if enom offers co.uk, it and es domains. I have heard that they are going to introduce co.uk but nothing yet.
blob2 08-13-2002, 03:41 AM I sent you a PM regarding the UK reseller program I'm setting up.
ubergeek22 08-13-2002, 01:36 PM If you need .co.uk, just register with nominet, it doesn't cost anything, and you get the names a discount.

I would, but I'm trying to find an 'all in one' solution if possible.
UH-Matt 08-14-2002, 01:11 PM Im still looking for a good central place to do my domain registrations. I dont think the above support .co.uk do they ?
blacknight 08-14-2002, 01:25 PM A couple of them do, but their prices are prohibitively expensive to setup, or the commission levels are so low that cj.com looks almost attractive
UH-Matt 08-14-2002, 01:35 PM maybe i will do all my .uk domains with 123-reg then find an enom reseller to do me a good deal on the other tld's *hint hint*

that's wrong, it costs nothing to get a nominet tag, but to get the discount you have to be a member (£500+VAT initially, £100/year after that)
UH-Matt 08-14-2002, 07:05 PM welcome to the forum robin :)
UH-Matt 08-15-2002, 07:19 AM BLACKNIGHT :
www.enom.com currently do good prices for resellers of .com/net/org etc.. they currently dont support the .uk tld's but have plans to in the future.
blacknight 08-15-2002, 08:14 AM Thanks UH-Matt! Their setup is excellent.
I might try finding a temporary alternative until I can find my fabled 'one-stop shop' :D
UH-Matt 08-15-2002, 08:22 AM no problem,
I signed up for an enom account via
http://www.domainresell.biz
yesturday and was running within an hour.
im using that for all my registrations and then 123-reg for my .uk registrations... but im hoping enom will start doing UK registrations really soon so i have 1 central place for all my names.
the enom control panel is excellent and i especially liked the no signup fee side of things from domainresell.biz ;)
blacknight 08-15-2002, 08:33 AM What kind of profit can you make on a domain then?
Say you sold a domain for US$15 - how much of that would be profit?
And transfers? Costs?
Can you set up that the default DNS for new domains points to your DNS?
(Sorry, I'm sure that the answers are on their site, but my eyes are killing me and the print is very small)
UH-Matt 08-15-2002, 08:47 AM yes you can setup dns so domains go onto your own nameservers.
I register domains at $8.65 per domain so $15 would give me around $6.35 profit.
It costs $8.65 to transfer a domain on to enom but this also adds a year of registration... so its free but you need to renew for a year.
edb49 08-17-2002, 09:06 AM We've developed a domain registration system that does all the TLDs and UK domains and it's beta testing at the moment for anyone who's interested. :)
