do you allow legal torrents?

also, if upgrading to 100mbit port, will it be limited to 3300gb traffic per month or shared unmetered?

synapse

Hello,

As long as the torrent content is legal, it is allowed.

As for the 100mbs port, 3300gig mo is included, if you use more than that, you will be billed at $35 per mbs (330gb).

Thank you

Fantastic price for premium network servers!

I'm just wondering are those unmetered 10Mbps full duplex (3.3TB in + 3.3TB out) or it is actually capped at 3.3TB total?

Thanks.

synapse

Michael,

If you do not upgrade to the 100mbs port, you are plugged into a 10mbs port and you can use the bandwidth however you wish. There are no caps. Even on the 100mbs port, you are not capped, but you would pay if you go over 3300 in total bw.

Thank you

Hi,
Thanks for the clarification.

Sound really interesting.

Anyway, I'm wondering whether your network is fine at the moment? For your information, I tried downloading the testfile but it seems that the speed never exceed 200KB/s on my 8Mbps full duplex line here in UK.

Just a comparison, the screen below is a testfile on GNAX Gold and that is the speed I was expecting to get from your premium network.

Thanks and hope to hear from you again soon.

Hello Michael,

Yes, our network is fine. If you would like to pm me your traceroute or any information, I would be glad to look it over.
I also could not find the url to download the same 11mbtest.txt file that you link to. I would be interested in downloading it myself.

If you are interested in doing some additional testing, I would be glad to give you a shell account on a vps inside our data center and you could do some testing on your own.

I am very confident in our network.

Thank you

Here are some updates:

We are sold out of the Special #1 (Pentium 4 2.8GHz with Hyperthreading), we have 2 left on the Special #5 (Pentium Dual Core Processor E2200).

Also, in response to many questions we have received:
Extra memory, $5/per gig/mo. So an extra 2gig ram = $10/mo
Additional IP addresses, $0.25/ea/mo
And yes, you can add an additional hard drive to special #5, it is $10/mo.

And yes, we have a reseller program. You can get additional discounts, specials, etc. Email sales@synapseglobal.com for details.

Thank you

Oops, your servers are sure selling fast as the price is really value for money :D

Anyway, just a question, how much would Pentium 4 2.8GHz with Hyperthreading cost if you restock after 1st of February?

Please PM me the shell information :) I'll be interested to do further testing!

All the best.

Are raid configurations available for a one time fee?

synapse
01-27-2008, 02:13 PM
Brown,

Yes, you can have software raid setup on any of the boxes with 2 hard drives. We can set this up during the initial install for free.

We can setup hardware raid on these systems:
Special 2:
Dual Xeon 3.06

Special 3:
AMD 64 3200
SATA RAID 0/1

at no additional charge (assuming the server has 2 or more hd's), as long as you tell us during the setup.

Thank you

Please add RAM upgrade option to your order form. Thank you.

synapse
01-27-2008, 03:19 PM
CYB:

All of the servers except the E2200 had the option. We had maxed the E2200 out at 2gig for our special, but since there are only two left (someone has asked for one of the two, but not paid yet), I have added the option for the upgrade. You can now add up to 2gig (making it 4 gig total) to the E2200 order.

Thank you

strato

what are the specs of the ram that you use in your Dual Xeon 3.06 systems?

do you have a money back guarantee?

thanks

synapse
01-27-2008, 05:40 PM
Strato:

The exact RAM specs will depend on how much ram you order. But, assuming you use the 2gig ecc ram it comes with, it would be:
pc2700 DDR 333MHz

As far as a money back guarantee.. We do not offer a blanket "money back guarantee" on dedicated servers. As you probably know, there are several hard costs as well as variables out of our control (such as people renting servers and spamming, hosting illegal content, etc). But we will do everything possible to make sure you are a happy customer, and if it is warranted, I would give you your money back if you were not happy.

Thank you

Hello All,

Today, when our Fedex delivery came with hardware, we discovered that there were no E2200's in the box. We had a meeting, and we have decided to upgrade everyone that purchased an E2200 to a E4500 at no cost! We have one "E2200" left in our order form:
http://my.synapseglobal.com/order.php?step=2&pid=31

So, if anyone wants a E4500 for the E2200 price.. there is one left :-). (When you order, you will see it says "Free Upgrade" inside the details).

Thank you

I just received my testing VPS from Synapse. The network speed is really stable and fast.

My apologies. I believe it was a problem with my ISP earlier that the test speed wasn't good when I tested it few days ago.

Great network, great prices!
