View Full Version : Found a great company - Sphere Web Hosting
bbubba 01-25-2008, 12:13 PM I have found a great company for my reseller hosting and wanted to share it here.
Sphere Web Hosting
Actually I’m a little hesitant to write these comments. The reason is, I’m afraid thousands of you will sign up and my great tech support will have to be shared with many others.
I have spent much time looking for a good company and now that I’ve found one I feel it wouldn’t be fair to keep it a secret.
The easiest way to describe Sphere Web Hosting is to say they go the extra mile for their customers. Unfortunately this is uncommon in today’s world. I’ve spoken to the owner of the company and he assures me all customers get the same level of support.
Thanks,
Deli
iHubNet-Matt 01-25-2008, 12:24 PM What is their domain name?
Couldn't find it on a quick search in google.
Also, what is the domain that you host with them. That will make your comments more credible.

I have been mostly a reader here and haven't made enough post to enter url's yet.
PM me and I will give you more info on what sites I'm hosting.

No it's not just you.
Ultima VPS 01-25-2008, 12:48 PM Yeah think this one needs to be modded quickly. I also know a great company...
bbubba 01-25-2008, 01:30 PM I'm sorry if my post looked like self-advertising.
I've been a Vortech reseller for a long time and have been looking for another place to go due to issues at Vortech.
I started recently with Sphere by creating a small reseller account. I've been adding a few accounts over the past few weeks and every time I've needed to contact support at Sphere they were great.
I still have a lot of accounts at Vortech and don't want to bash them. My plan is to continue to move accounts to Sphere. I am setting up all of my new accounts on Sphere.
Hope this is helpful.

devonblzx 01-25-2008, 01:47 PM Just click report and send your domain name information to the mods to verify the review bbubba. You need to do that or post your domain name here.
Thanks for taking the time to write a review, I hope you continue to get good service.
bbubba 01-25-2008, 02:09 PM I don't see where to "click report" but...................
I did send an email to the moderator. I gave them some of the url's I'm hosting on Sphere. I didn't post the sites here as they are client sites.
I also gave the mods my name email address and phone number.

I'm intrigued to how many domains you have on their server :)
seems like :spam:
although their site looks ok...a few of the plans look oversellinglysuckeroony for my liking. 400gb space /400gb bw for $4.95 and I wonder how many plans like that they can fit on their server.

writespeak 01-25-2008, 04:47 PM The thread starter has sent us some domains for verifcation, and they're hosted with Sphere Web Hosting. Thanks for the review and the verification of it. :)

Update: Tried again using a different link. Response came back quick and to the point. Live support was on too so I tried them and was connected in about 30 seconds. Accidentally closed it and tried again and connected again within 30seconds. Sent another email and had my answers in good time. For me with the past experiences I have with my current host, this is looking good.

Haha yep, everyone is looking for blood on these boards ;)
antic 03-17-2008, 12:20 PM Well, another thing is that bbubba, in the OP, signed off as "Deli". On the Sphere forums, there is a Moderator called "Deli Lama". Also signs off as "D", like bbubba. Coincidence? You decide. :)

New companies need exposure of course, but it's nicer being up front about it.
TheDesigners 03-17-2008, 01:35 PM Isn't antic a username from the Vortech forums? Are you the same antic?
bbubba 03-17-2008, 06:52 PM Antic, your impression of nefarious deeds afoot by Sphere Web Hosting are not accurate. My being asked to help as a moderator was after the post you read. There is no Quid Pro Quo between myself and Sphere Web Hosting.
In the past I’ve openly sought opinions on finding a second hosting company to add to the one I’ve been using exclusively. I’ve read and benefited from your many posts on another reseller board based out of Florida. I continue to maintain an active account there and plan to remain.
As a sound business practice I thought it wise to have more than one hosting provider for my business. After lots of trial an error I found Sphere Web Hosting and gave them a try. My experience there has been a positive one and I wanted to share that in a public forum. I don’t expect anyone to take my word alone but suggest opening a starter account and posting your own experience.

I have an account there and have had no issues other than the ones I created due to lack of experience. I never had the problem you stated, I emailed and chatted online numerous times before I signed up with them. Due to my bad previous host I wanted to make sure they answered my simple questions in a timely manner. Each time I received answers almost immediately.
Been there a couple months or close 2 that and still happy. they have had to walk me through some stuff too, and did it with good cheer.
No problems to report here but I am small time, using the account for my family.
Possibly, but my mail since 2.3.2008 is still unanswered. I sent a reminder on 5.3 and there is still no answer!
I cannot generalize but tell my own experience!
dr16049 03-18-2008, 11:10 AM Well, there is the problem.... 5.3 is still in the future!!
Really though, reviews, good or bad, help everyone including the host. Hopefully they see this and respond. Good luck in your search, I know it's tough.
izie01 03-21-2008, 09:25 AM I'm a relatively new client at sphere and and old one at VT. The current downward spiral at VT has me looking or other options. Based on a tip from what I consider to be a very reliable source I am giving shperewebhosting a try. So far, I have been very pleased with their service and support and their willingness to listen and respond to their customers like and dislikes. Sure, their a new company but we all have to start somewhere. Sphere has the attitude that it is our company not there company. Well, how long that can last we don't know, but at least I know where I stand right now. That's a lot more than I can say for other providers. As I continue to test the waters at Sphere I will keep the majority of my sites with my other provider, moving them over to sphere cautiously. I may keep both thus having backups.
This is not spam, just my thought on a company I'm very optimistic about.
izie01 03-21-2008, 09:38 AM Haha yep, everyone is looking for blood on these boards ;)
Ditto: Should be looking for solutions.

Is that "VT" as in Vortech? I have had an account with Vortech for a number of years. Currently, I'm migrating off to cure long smoldering problems. It looks as if there are a lot of ex-VTers looking for alternatives on here.
supportoncall 04-04-2008, 04:29 PM Any more updates , comments or experiences on sphere webhost ?

That is for the main site. I don't think they would have their clients on their main site's server.
Vortech 04-24-2008, 04:04 PM We have been and are just about to make big changes. If you chose to leave I do wish the best of luck. But we have been working very hard to be sure our custom H-Sphere install will upgrade with out issue we are looking at maybe 1 to 2 months now for that we already have atmail upgrade in the works with webmail1 on the tech bench being tested, reinstalled.
We are also uprading our mail servers to do something a lot of other H-sphere servers will not be able to do or never be able to do unless they see our custom coding. We hope this will fix the over load of abuse by some customers that have 1000's of email accounts well that like to get spam and then it just makes things bad for everyone on that system. :(
AND NO OUR SITE, BILLING, TICKET SYSTEM, SPAM SYSTEMS are all different servers nothing to do with H-sphere at all.
