Every morning Fred gets out of bed, takes a shower and then gets dressed. He then goes into the kitchen where he eats breakfast and reads the morning newspaper. After breakfast Fred leaves his apartment on the 23rd floor and walks down the hall to an elevator which he takes down to the lobby. He walks across the lobby out the door where the doorman flags a cab for him. He then takes a cab to work. After work each day he leaves his office and hails a cab which he rides back to his apartment building. He gets out of the cab and waits walks into his apartment building and across the lobby where he gets on the elevator. On a rainy day he takes the elevator all the way up to the 23rd floor. On a sunny day Fred takes the elevator up to the 15th floor where he gets off and takes the stairs 8 floors up to the 23rd floor. Once on the 23rd floor he walks down the hall to his apartment and sits in front of the TV until time for bed.

So why does Fred take the elevator all the way up to the 23rd floor on a rainy day?
