i just notice that Namecheap now charge 9.29 and so does yahoo. while godaddy have it at 6.

Is there a recent hike on the price? Not that i don't like namecheap service but it doesn't hurt to check out a cheaper register.

can you guys recommend a good and cheap register that allow more than 2 name servers?

Yes, but not exactly "recently". It's news all the way back April LAST YEAR (and effective in October).

As for "cheap" registrars, DomainSite.com for instance, charges $7.88 for new registrations and $6.99 for transfers (a.k.a. first year). And yes, they allow more than 2 nameservers.

The ICANN fee increased prices for many registrars out there.

Yes the prices rose late year year from Icann... there are places like Godaddy that you can use a coupon and get a .com for $6.95, MyDomain offer .coms just over $5 for bulk purchases using coupon "bargaincat.com" or $7.66 each or $6.79 transfer with that coupon.

There was no rise in the ICANN fees, the ICANN fees even dropped the last year two or three times.

There was a hike in the registry fees. Verisign, Afilias, PIR and Neulevel increased there prices according to the contracts they have with ICANN.
