Hello all
I am thinking of putting mail server on my Nt box, i tried merakmail from icewarp.com and found it to be good in terms of features, it supports multi domains on same ip , domain admins control panel to add pop3 accounts , and end user controls to do forwardings , autoresponders etc.
Price is also good at 240 $ . anybody here who uses merak mail,
Others like mailmax , and imail are there but i think it is more expensive. Want to know if anybody already using it.

A lot of server's I know of that run NT, use Netscape mail server. It seems to be pretty good and has been used for years and years. I'm not sure of the exacts on it, since I've never personally installed it on my NT server, but I know of ISP's that have had pretty good performance with them. You can get a trial version, but if you're an ISP or server host, I think that you can actually get a free license to use it. At least that was the case 4 years ago.

You might want to try Imail 6.6 from ipswitch.com. We use it and have had no problem with it. We love it. Plus it has great web mail support as well but it will cost more the $240. I think its still worth a look if you want a good mail server.

merak isn't too bad for an NT mail server.
Has a lot of options and features and seems stable.
I installed it for a client on their server a while ago now and from what I understand they've found it to be quite good.

We just bought Imail a few weeks ago and discovered it's IMAP server is really slow. After some research, it appeared that everyone has this problem with it. Since we want to support IMAP, this is unacceptable. IMail tech support basically told us to just deal with it.
If you want to just support POP, though, IMail is a good solution.
You may also want to look at Communigate.

I have also got some favourable reports about merak from my friends who use it,
This would also be used for the low mail traffic sites, For sites with high mail traffic we provide on good old linux.
On local tests also it appeared to be fine. I think i will go ahead with the same , Also i think this is one of the cheapest solutions around .
