I don't believe how many hosts have gone up for sale in the past couple of days. It's madness!

I know exactly what you mean. It seems like there is a new company for sale everyday and it looks like almost all of them have buyers.

Well, it makes a lot of sense, at least to me.

If a company has decided that it would like to exit the business, why not sell the clients to someone who wants them and recover some investment?

And from the buyer's point of view... it's sure nice to buy established accounts rather than throw money down advertising with no guarantee of results.

I agree Travis, but why are so many people wanting to leave the business right now... It seems like it was an all-at-once thing.

Actually you have to wonder, Is the ebay one now fishing here under a new name to sell their clients?

Have you noticed that most of the people 'selling' their client base here are new members?

And how's the one that's been in business for 3.5 years and only has a client base of 130 or something like that... that's fishy!

Personally I've been wondering the same thing. No contact info for these people (not even a hotmail address), but a good way to get a lot of hosts to throw up an important email address - maybe some more specials offers on the way? :) Like Life Insurance and Viagra.

From a support point of view these types of accounts can turn into a nightmare.
Customer's are'nt told about the switch, Providers or hosting companies dont have access to all of the info ... It really wreaks havoc on everyone... Think about purchasing someones clients... You may regret it.
