Bold Outlook 01-15-2008, 01:39 PM If you are selling with GoDaddy, the easiest way is for the buyer to have a GoDaddy account and the domain will be transfered to the other account. Learn a couple of terms so you say what you mean. The process of transferring a domain to a new owner and keeping it at the same registrar is called a "push" or "pushing it". The process of moving a domain from one registarar to another is called a transfer. It is always easier to push a domain then to tranfer one. A push can take as little as an hour if both parties are online and respond to the emails. Godaddy has safeguards built into the system that makes them one of the slower of the quick movers. The only valid infomation you must have is the email address for the buyer's Godaddy account. You can fake the rest of the info any the buyer can correct it after taking the domain. Unlock the domain and initiate the change of ownership. Confirm on the following screens and bam you part is done. The buyer will get an email and when they accept the push it is complete. You will then get a notice that it has been cancelled from your account. The process is basically the same everywhere. Some places it is an account number instead of an email that you need. edit the 60 day rule is an icann rule, not a godaddy rule. Harzem 01-15-2008, 06:35 PM edit the 60 day rule is an icann rule, not a godaddy rule. ICANN prohibits transfers, - within 60 days of initial registration - within 60 days of registrar change, unless you go back to the old registrar. They don't have a policy to lock transfer on domain info change. But Godaddy has, and people hate it. noodle2u 01-15-2008, 09:30 PM Thank you everyone for your information.. I really needed it as I have about 20 extra domain names and don't know what to do with them. shakir 01-16-2008, 02:53 AM You can push domain from one registrar to other . If it's one registrant to another, yes, but between registrars (like GoDaddy to Enom for instance), it requires an actual transfer with one year renewal. |
