You can easily download webmin, it is FREEWARE at
http://www.webmin.com. Get a FreeBSD server, download
the tarball and unpack it, its easy to setup and
configure.

I love FreeBSD!!! I am using FreeBSD on a box hosted with these guys. <<ADMIN EDIT>> I have had good luck with them. They install Webmin on all of their boxes. FYI ask for a discount on the setup. Goodluck]

Simon,
two out of your three messages refer to <<ADMIN EDIT>>. That's probably fine, but it makes me wonder since you seem to be emailing within their network. If you are a customer and have an account with them, will you please post your www address?

Thanks....

cheers,

At the risk of being off topic... What do you people think about a company that registers a client's domain (or so I'm assuming) as being owned by itself?

I think that you need to get a life. They pay for my domain name as long as I host with them. If you have a problem email me directly. I HAVE POSTED ALL OF MY INFO UNLIKE YOU I HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE!

Ahh... So that's it.

It's not a witch hunt. I have absolutely nothing to hide - I'm not affiliated with any hosting service, don't provide any hosting services, etc. etc.

P.S. Even if they do pay for your domain as long as you're hosted with them, it may be prudent for you to ensure that they still transfer ownership over to you, and just pay for renewal as long as you host with them. Otherwise, they _might_ be difficulties if you ever leave them... not that that is likely if they as great as you say, of course :)

Alright, this has gotten far enough off-topic.

Cheers :)

mkaufman asked 'What are the specs of the server? '

I need a basic Pentium celeron or PII server (600-700 Mhz), FreeBSD and Webmin installed, the amount of memory and disk size would depend on what the basic configuration costs per month. If I could customize the hardware/software it would be ideal.

What about transfer/mo? Any ideas?

Rephrase,

how much transfer/mo do you need? And How much money do you want to spend on the server (like price range). With all these information, I am sure somebody can point you to the right place....

Server with following specs needed.
About 20 GB/month transfer
10-20 Gb disk, 7200 RPM
CPU to range from Celeron to PII in the 600~700 Mhz range, I will have to decide on cost for each model and what is available.
Software to be installed on FreeBSD server to include MySQL and Webmin in addition to the usual stuff like apache, sendmail, FTP etc.
Contract should be 3 months or less.
