View Full Version : Best Live Support Software
seasideintl 01-14-2008, 07:43 PM We are looking to integrate live chat software into WHMCS thus providing better support to our customers. We are looking for the most usable feature packed and with the best ease of use in live chat software, Preferably not Kayako. Something with a desktop client if possible available for download, and preferably not opensource. Something with a user friendly interface easy for our customers :) Thanks
Cody Salter 01-14-2008, 09:34 PM We used providesupport.com in the past and they were great. That or Liveperson pro if you are looking for a stable, professional hosted solution.
p3terpan 01-15-2008, 06:52 PM Go to google and type in stardevelop and go to their site. Their chat is so unbelievable. I love it so much. It is so simple and so user friendly. The license cost about 119.00$ owned. Give them a shot and let me know what you think after you try them.
Shoot me a pm

infinitienet 01-16-2008, 04:17 AM Does anyone use Live Person anymore? I know its expensive. But doesnt it offer a lot more features?
HostingDeals 01-16-2008, 04:29 AM I've you are considering LivePerson, TRUST me, be a jerk in their live chat and you'll get some VERY reasonable rates. :D
infinitienet 01-16-2008, 06:19 AM HostingDeals your totally right. I kept being annoying and I got 40% off monthly. So its only $60 per month for me.
Still pricey. But Live Person is a decent software bundle.
uberhostNET 01-16-2008, 06:57 AM Go to google and type in stardevelop and go to their site. Their chat is so unbelievable. I love it so much. It is so simple and so user friendly. The license cost about 119.00$ owned.
Live Help is really an excellent deal, especially considering the fact that it includes lifetime upgrades. :agree:
bemas 01-16-2008, 09:24 AM stardevelop or liveresponse of Kayako are some choices you can make
createsurvey 01-16-2008, 10:13 AM We use phplivesupport - it can be installed on your own server.
jerett 01-16-2008, 10:31 AM HostingDeals your totally right. I kept being annoying and I got 40% off monthly. So its only $60 per month for me.
Still pricey. But Live Person is a decent software bundle.
It is a shame that they try and get you on such a high price when you in fact - they do have room for adjustments. They act a lot like car salesmen/women in the matter that they will or can go lower if pushed. I wonder what is the lowest set price the sales people are allowed to give to the customer. Wonder if they could get down to $30 a month.
steve9261 01-16-2008, 03:27 PM I use Omnistar Live http://www.omnistarlive.com
infinitienet 01-16-2008, 04:32 PM My big this, is I want to be able to do a force chat to the customers to increase conversions. So that is important.
You are right Jerett, it really is a shame that they can go this low, and I bet I could have gone to $50 most likely, but I did't want to push any buttons =)
If you look at Live Persons stats they are doing worse and worse for traffic, yet revenue is up.
Funny Stuff.
Able-host 01-17-2008, 05:55 PM Although i do not use it myself i here http://www.kayako.com/ is good support software to use.
LP-Hosting 01-17-2008, 05:59 PM Hi there,
My first choice would have to be Kayako. It is an excellent peice of software and very easy to use. However, as you are not wanting Kayako I would recommend looking into Star Develop (stardevelop.com)
There is a Desktop Based software and would be my second choice of software. Its nice and easy to use and for a good price aswell.
Soskel34 01-17-2008, 06:15 PM I am having huge problems with stardevelop now because their messenger client only works on windows.
Juanzo 01-17-2008, 06:45 PM We've been using TrioLive (http://www.activecampaign.com/triolive/) for quite a while and we really like it, specially their desktop application.
uberhostNET 01-18-2008, 02:16 AM I am having huge problems with stardevelop now because their messenger client only works on windows.
How about using the browser-based solution located in /livehelp/admin?
TheSonic 01-18-2008, 02:31 AM Live help Messenger of Stardevelop. Is the coolest in my personal opinion.
infinitienet 01-25-2008, 01:18 AM So far so good, I like Live Help, because i can see where my users are coming from and if they are unique or repeat.
solarenergyhost 01-31-2008, 05:02 PM Star Develop is good, and inexpensive. It works for us.
dancom96 01-31-2008, 10:10 PM Crafty Syntax, I don't get why other people don't use it. I mean it has everything you need, just add a good theme and no one will know the difference.
solarenergyhost 01-31-2008, 10:40 PM Crafty Syntax has fairly unattractive graphics, and requires time to modify, I hear it is good.
Funkadelic 02-03-2008, 01:53 AM For live person,
1. First time on live chat, they offered 80% discount on additional licenses.
2. Second time we pestered them, they offered 50% discount on additional licenses
4. Third time we talked, they offered $60 for EVERY seat.
sanver 02-03-2008, 02:05 AM Crafty Sybtax is an excellent Live Chat Tool. It is a powerful tool and can be hosted on your own server. We are using it for past one year and we find it very useful.
You can change the look and feel of application and also do some custom modifications to it for integration wiith other applications. We use another open source variation of Crafty Syntax that alows us to integrate CSLH with SugarCRM.
ZioEspeed 02-03-2008, 08:10 PM Would always use Kayako. They have the best integration options out there. I'm currently helping on a Blackberry integration module for Kayako's products.
McNultyHosting 02-04-2008, 11:43 PM I tto am looking. Has anyone tried PHPLive?
Fizzinghost 02-05-2008, 01:02 PM I will also vote stardevelop
JonnyQuags 02-05-2008, 06:38 PM I stopped using PHPLive due to security problems that never seemed to get solved and went with LivePerson instead. If it is an affordable option I recommend using LivePerson.
moReal 02-05-2008, 06:47 PM providesupport.com, attractive, affordable and gets the job done
pueblosnet 02-05-2008, 08:01 PM I'm using plugoo for one year and it's perfect for a small company like me ;)
dotcomUNDERGROUND 02-07-2008, 09:16 PM We use ProvideSupport.com and we are happy with it :)
And you get a heavy discount on annual payment.
loveweb 02-07-2008, 09:24 PM ProvideSupport is very good livechat system.
xperience 02-12-2008, 08:40 AM I stopped using PHPLive due to security problems that never seemed to get solved and went with LivePerson instead. If it is an affordable option I recommend using LivePerson.
Hi Tcoy - we were just starting to look at phplive (like the idea we can run it ourselves and negate the monthly sub) - what problems were you having with security?
Cheers
Simon
Sohan 02-12-2008, 10:20 AM Liveperson are good. I love the admin interface for it.
Say to them your friend has a 50% off coupon, can you get the same. I did, now my operator is only 50$.
Shaw Networks 02-12-2008, 10:48 PM Help Center Live is an excellent live chat software. It's open source, has all the features paid live chat softwares have and you can monitor live chat requests from a desktop executable.
cabron 02-13-2008, 11:23 AM Just today i tryed providesupport and it looked quite good. Pricing a bit high tho.
waveweb 02-21-2008, 04:08 PM stardevelop is great and their support is amazing.
empresasdehosting 02-21-2008, 04:16 PM Hi msm25:
can you setup a pre-chat specials fields with stardevelop ?
Thanks
waveweb 02-21-2008, 04:30 PM Hi empresasdehosting,
Do you mean Pre-typed Responses? If is this what you need, yes it is possible and it works great.
Take a look at their features here: http://livehelp.stardevelop.com/features.htm
EastCoast 02-21-2008, 07:25 PM I use both ProvideSupport and Live Person. ProvideSupport works fine and I would recommend it considering the higer price of Live Person, but yes, LP has far more features.
Cody Salter 02-21-2008, 08:10 PM What specific features does LivePerson have that ProvideSupport doesn't? I have looked at the comparison chart on ProvideSupport.com however, it isn't going to list features that ProvideSupport doesn't have.
empresasdehosting 02-21-2008, 08:59 PM Hi msm25, thanks for your response...but nope, i dont refered to Pre-typed Responses, i refered to pre chat custom fields, for example you create a custom field ( text box ), called customer number, when the user want to chat with you he must fill his customer number, and you, as operator, when see the chat request you see the customer number before accept chat....
Thanks
com1usa 02-22-2008, 08:25 AM I am looking for a PHP Live license ( phplivesupport.com ) for one of my customers who insists on that application ( they used it at another compnay and are familiar with it... Problem is, I cant buy the software from their website, and they seem to be out of business..... Does anyone have a license that they can sell me? Please advise
