View Full Version : The New FDCServers?

FDC recently added some more 100 Mbps lines, updated their site, and apparently changed their hosting plans pretty substantially. (I like the new concept, though, of what's akin to "burstable" bandwidth, but with GB instead of kbps -- like 400 GB a month guaranteed, but you can go over it for free.)

As someone who is considering getting a server (read: a 'dedicated server wannabee' :D ), I was wondering what people thought of them now. People had a ton of gripes about the bandwidth being horrible, but can people comment on what they're like now? (I'm not interested in "They used to suck..." comments -- I've read them all.)

Never heard of "fdcservers.net down" on these forums yet, so they must be doing very well. I've also noticed that recently their ping times have gone down drastically.

Are you sure you haven't heard of it?

A few weeks ago there were full of complaints of the downtime.

I know that they got massive packet loss and insanely small amounts of bandwidth frequently, but I don't recall them technically going down too often.

Good to hear that their ping times went down, though. :)

Ooh, thanks for the link. Looks like they've been pretty low lately, good to know. It was quite informative to be able to look at graphs and see for myself; thanks a bunch.

It's open unless it starts driving the server into the ground (it's an auto refresh, don't forget to close that window y'all :] ), also have

as before, this one on fastservers.net, similar knackered setup which I'll fix one day RSN (or next year)

know it's the sort of thing would of served me well when I was looking, hearsay is one thing (and pretty innacurate IMO, everyone has an agenda), a nice visible track record is another :]

No there WERE problems, noone can deny that. BUT it is much better now and we work on helping the situation as well.
