Is this a simple piece of spam or should I be worried? I've emailed them but nothing yet....anyone been hit with this before?

The reason I'm a little worried is due to someone was showing interest in it earlier in the week and I wouldn't sell it. The domain is locked with namecheap btw?

Regards,

Jonaid

if you have questions about this, contact namecheap ?

I'm sure they can answer your question.

If the domain is still locked, you should not face a problem

I think you should make it private.

If it is locked, it is safe. Locking is used to prevent such issues.

Still, you should double check that it is really locked.

when its locked can you change nameservers ?!

Yes. Locking only locks the registrar data, not DNS data.

That depends on the registrar. Some registar locks won't let you change the nameservers some will. As others have said. If it's locked, it should be safe. I'd call them if you value your domain.

At namecheap, you can have a domain unlocked or locked and still change your nameservers.

I do value the domain and the reason why I'm alittle worried is due to someone showing interest in the domain but I've decided not to sell it to them. I'm currently with namecheap and logged a critical service desk call. They couldn't see anything and assured my if i hadn't given out my EPP then it couldn't be moved. I think it was a piece of spam that's got me worried....hope it doesn't go though.

contact your hosting company quickly and also make sure that your domain is not expired.
