If accepting credit cards by internet is not necessary, does that open more possibilities for merchant accounts? I am located outside the U.S. and need an internationally minded merchant acct.

If the transactions are not Internet related, then you should ask your local bank for some POS terminal / solution, might be much cheaper.

2CO allow to have an accout not only US Citizens. I think that with nowadays tendencies online card processing less expensive and easier.

Yes, 2CO allows non-US merchants. But they do not allow my comodity which is insurance.

I am under the impression that the issue is "card present" versus "card not present". e.g. If you are just swiping physical cards at your business ("card present"), then the fees/percentages are lower than "card not present" Internet or telephone transactions.

I think telephone orders would have to qualify as "card not present", which would mean the higher fees. Can anyone else comment?

Yes your are CORRECT! I have been a agent for CDGcommerce and this is how it goes. CDG considered both Internet and Phone and mail orders as MOTO, So aslong as your type is under whats called MOTO, your still goign to have higher rates.
