While I must say their Technical support Department is quick to reply to regular support issues. (within 2hrs no matter what time of day or nite) I think that is great.

However my past two requests for additional IP's have both taken over 19hours each. Am I missing something here. I provided all the information they have asked for. I am in no means bashing them, great company great service, I just need these IP's to close out my old server this weekend.

Any input appreicated..

Well - I think they give IP's lower priorites than 'real' support requests, which I can understand.
19 hours is not bad at all for new IP's, imho.

Really - OK I did not know it could take that long to get IP's thanks. Like I asked "Was I missing something"

Thanks for the clue

John:

Actually you were not missing anything; due to recent requests of IP addresses in large numbers we are verifying the need for IPs. To continue giving our customers the ability to request IP addresses we must at all times have justification. This means someone from our company goes out and manually verifies the usage of the IP Addresses (Fun Times for All!)

While the turnaround time for this is 24 hours the major benefit is that we keep an ample supply of IP addresses available for our customers. If for some reason we did not have this immaculate documentation the wait could be 3-4 days if we ran out.

Seems odd that you didn't receive an Email (a lot quicker than 19 hrs) updating you on the situation. Unless they had previously provided you with information on the time line for obtaining IPs, that is.

I know what you mean though, when you send in a request or trouble ticket, don't hear back till many hours or days later, only to find out they were "working" on it.

I have found this to happen with more than a few Hosters I have dealt with, and I just have to give my head a shake, and wonder.

This is a general observation and not directed at any specific company.
