 | View Full Version : PerlDesk Email piping blacknight 08-10-2002, 08:05 AM I have been trying to get the email piping in PerlDesk setup for the last few days, but have failed miserably. If anybody has managed to get it set up properly, would they mind sharing what they put in their aliases file, as all I seem to get are errors. Here's a step by step guide. 1. Download PerlDesk and follow installation instructions. You need to check that you have all modules. Use the attached script (change it to .pl) 2. Add a user via the control panel and any email aliases you want for your helpdesk. 3. As root.Copy email.pl to /usr/adm/sm.bin/ and chown root, chgrp root, chmod 755 4. Open /etc/mail/aliases and add the following line: helpdesk@yourdomain.xxx: "|/usr/adm/sm.bin/email.pl" 5. Send a test message to any of your helpdesk addresses Please note This worked for me, but there's no guarantee that'll work for you. blazeman 08-10-2002, 10:55 AM Did you mean perldesk?
