i need an affordable dedicated server i can have up
by april...

i was thinking about either a linux-based pc or a cobalt raq, advise me what would be best?

i have to move my site http://www.midi-network.com and a couple of other sites (i need at least 5-10 free IPs) and would like to have my customized DNS nameservers.

i'm willing to shell out ~$150/month or upto $200/month,
depending on the specs. i need at least 50GB/transfer, but
would prefer ~66GB/month or so. i do quite a bit of PHP and CGI, so i think i'll need ~128MB RAM or more (i've read up this stuff here on this forum). and i'll need to have some sort of control panel because i'm not too familiar with linux.

i have my site hosted on an ALabanza-based host, so i don't want to move to a host that will s-l-o-w down my site. need something that's reliable and speedy (like pair or something).

thanx!
mail me at ceo@inbox.com.pk or webmaster@midi-network.com

Why April? Why not now?

How many domains are you going to run off it?

Stick to a linux box.

i think i'll need to put up 5-10 domains on the box. i'm waiting till ~april because my pre-paid hosting accounts still have a L-O-N-G way to go...

Me too.... And he does not want to edit it also, although he knew it's violating the forum rules :(

Anyhow, let's see how long it will be up there before somebody will edit his post, either he himself or any admin :D

Almost 4 hours already? :)

cheers,

How could someone that's been here long enough to post 216 times post something that so blatantly breaks what's probably the #1 rule here? And... possibly even more strangely... how could the admins have overlooked it for (what is now) more than 8 hours?

I'm sorry, I was thinking this was the advertising forum. I had this URL written down on a piece of paper, that's why I didn't realize.

Uh, calm down. We all make mistakes..

At least I took the responsibility to delete it myself instead of waiting for him to contact me (which he didn't) or having an admin delete it when they came across it.

Not everybody is on this forum every hour of the day some people only visit it once a day, even 24 hours later would have been acceptable...
