Hello, I've got a single dedicated server (RH 7.1) that I'm in the process of setting up for a few sites I host for myself, along with some sites for friends. I grew very tired of shared hosting issues and so went the dedicated route where I got to pick who I shared the server with and could make changes on my own terms.

The issue I'm having is finding an appropriate email setup. I've currently got postfix and courier-imap installed and working. I am not set on this software but have had some experience in the past with postfix and liked it. The real issue is that the combination of the two is not going to scale well in terms of maintenance. Adding a single user is far more time consuming and error prone than I'd like. So the question is is there a script repository or other small control panel out there that I haven't been able to find that could manage these better? Most users will be virtual with only a few local accounts. Because this isn't meant as a commercial hosting business I find it impossible to justify the costs of an hsphere-like system. I don't have a problem managing the other services on the box (dns, tomcat, httpd, postgres, etc.) by hand but email is a bit of a pain.

Thanks in advance for any information.

The best setup I have ever used was qmail+mysql+vpopmail+qmailadmin

Should take under a day to setup, easy to manage. I know others have had good luck with it also.

I think CPanel4/WHM will fix any problems, or features you might want. :)

CPanel and the like tend to 'take over' your system. I like to do things manually. I totally agree with davidb: I use vpopmail+qmail+qmailadmin. On top of that I use the Courier IMAP server, with SquirrelMail to access it. It took me and my business partner all weekend to set it up, but it was well worth it.
