What are some great places to pay for advertisment on for a web hosting company?

I have set up a few so far and getting great results but I want to start more up to get even more results.

So any of you that have experience in owning your own web hosting company can you be kind enough to give me some pointers on good places to advertise at?

The only problem with your question, is great advertising spots are best left secret.

General advertising places:
Web Host Directories (that rank high in google)
Web Host Top 10 Lists (that rank high in google)
Adwords, Yahoo Ads + the lesser known search engine paid spots.
Web Hosting Forums (Make sure to read the rules and follow them carefully)
Web Design Forums
Web Programming Forums
Web Programming Resource Sites (ie.. hotscripts.com)
Paid Text Links
Paid Blog Posts
Pop Under or Banner Networks
Signature Advertisements on forums that allow it.

advertising in places that have a ton of other Hosting ads up, Are those worth it? Would get the same amount click and conversion rate? Of course that would all depend on your web site content. but just curious

Our company has had good success advertising through Inetinteractive, which is WHT's parent company. They manage advertising on a number of big sites and will work with you to put an advertising package together that makes sense for your budget and target audience.

Once you have the ads, Inet Interactive provides detailed reporting on click through ratios. Once you get those click throughs, the rest is up to you and your website :-)

If you have an affiliate program you can just leverage all of their sites and traffic into your own for free without paying to advertise... just pay for paying clients.

It's a lot easier than advertising for the most part.
