FHDave 08-09-2002, 12:13 PM We switch datacenter to InterNAP since May this year and our experience with them has been very great. So far they have delivered what they promise us on SLA, a 100% network uptime. With nine major providers and their network architecture, it's hard to see how they can be down. Some of InterNAP's clients like American Airlines, Nasdaq, McAffee, Travelocity, etc are evidence of their quality. I will recommend you to go with InterNAP, directly or indirectly. You will enjoy their network redundancy and connectivity for sure. rey 08-09-2002, 01:31 PM Thank you for the input Dave. Which data center did you use prior to InterNAP? FHDave 08-09-2002, 02:02 PM Originally posted by rey Thank you for the input Dave. Which data center did you use prior to InterNAP? We used to have server(s) in 2 private datacenters, VDI (vdi.net) and NAC (nac.net). We decided to get our own rack in a major datacenter back on March. We got about 10 offers from many major datacenters (like UUNet, MFN, Level3, IBM, etc) and also some private datacenters. After 4 weeks, we narrowed down the choices to 5 datacenters (UUnet, Level3, MFN, InterNAP, and one other pricated datacenter). And finally we decided to go with InterNAP (Boston, MA) I hope you too will find your experience with InterNAP pleasant. What location of InterNAP's datacenter are you considering? jayjay 08-09-2002, 03:24 PM We've been with InterNAP for 10 months and have not experianced any downtime, except for hardware problems which were resolved in less than 10 minutes. Multiple DDOS attacks, and we've never seen any downtime. Although one time, the router was dropping 25% of valid SYN Packets because of it. It's nice only having downtime knowing that YOU screwed up! : ) chrisb 08-10-2002, 03:38 AM I'm sure Inter-nap sleeps sometimes. At least their name implies that. :) :) :) You didn't ask, but I hear Inflow is good too. cbaker17 08-10-2002, 12:29 PM Inflow has nice facilitys but its backbone cant compare to internaps, and imho internaps facilitys are better then inflows, they in some markets colocate in clear blue facilitys which are very nice. chrisb 08-11-2002, 12:03 AM Yep, Internap sounds better than NAC to me, though Internap has 9 bandwidth providers and NAC boosts 15, I believe. Of course, they probably cost more than NAC too. |
