Hi,
Can anyone give me a guide as to a reasonable conversion rate for visitor > customer in the web hosting industry?

Many thanks.

You mean sales per X unique views?

I was told for every 500 unique views, you should get a sale, when I was doing web hosting I found that to be better than true.

But I don't know it really depends on how you got them to your website also. I never used any cheap things like pop ups to my site or anything.

I think it would really depend on your price and your specs. For us its about 1 sale per 100 visitors.

Depend on how well you optimize your website.

Might also depend on the audience you've been shooting for (in the case of specialty hosting) and how long you've been around too.

Hi,
Thanks for the input. I'm just trying to get an idea of what sort of conversion figures you guys get, so I can set myself a benchmark.

I regard 1% to be an excellent conversion rate. I can't imagine anyone else acheives higher than this ?
