I've come looking for answers from the community as to where i should order a deticated server from. Currently i'm an IRC admin running my chat server from an ircd shell and run 2 domains that i have hosted and different places. I'm interested in ordering a box so that i have a deticated machine to myself to control my domains and move my irc server to. All that will be running on it is probably 2 domains and an ircd chat server. Preferrably Redhat 7.0 or Free BSD is what i would like to have for an operating system and a celeron 400 or amd 400 would be plenty i believe for the processor. 128mb or even 64mb of ram to start out with and 1 ip address. The max hard drive space would be 5gb becuase i won't be using a great deal of drive space since i'm not hosting anyone else. I average to use maybe a 1-2GB of bandwidth a month. my websites are for personal and friend use and my irc chat server is privately so i know i won't use alot of bandwidth. Now i'm hoping that someone can point me in the right direction for hosting a server. Like maybe 99$/month or less and possibly a place thats got no startup costs except first months price. I know that could be asking for something that people are not offering but if anything comes close then point me in that direction. I'd like to thank everyone in advance that puts input in! Thank you

You won't find alot of hosts allowing IRCD servers, they are pron to DoS attacks, and hackers. Just a heads up.

Koie, there are quite a few hosts who visit this board:

See: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=3053

-and you have email turned on, so I'd think a request for a dedicated server should generate some offers. If not, you know there is a problem with what you are asking for.

Let us know how it goes in the search... good luck!
