Hi,

I have a .biz name registered with netnames.co.uk and want to transfer it out as their prices are extortionate, however they want to charge me £19 to transfer it out, however I am the registrant/admin contact so I assume that any transfer request would be emailed to me and I could aprove it and so avoid the £19 charge. Is it possible to lock a .biz domain to stop it being transfered (and they'd unlock this for £19) and if so how can I tell if it is locked or not, the WHOIS doesn't seem to mention if it is locked or not.

Thanks,

Tom

P.s. I just tried to use the advanced Whois at http://www.whobiz.biz and they want $2 per record!!!

Not a .biz expert - but are you sure that is not a "change of owner" charge? - transfers are usually free.

LOL - $2 per whois search! - try this one, it's free:

I'm pretty sure you can put a lock on a .biz domain. If not they would not have made you the admin contact.

Care to share the domain name and I can prob. check.
