View Full Version : Which Windows Control Panel?
Hamid Reza 12-27-2007, 09:20 AM Hello,
We`ve just launched a Windows 2003 Web server, now I`m going to choose a control panel for that, Please send your suggestions and experiences with the following control panels:
1) Hosting Controller
2) CubePanel
3) Helm4
4) Plesk
5) Ensim
6) HostingAccelerator
7) cwipanel
8) dotNetPanel
9) InsPanel
I`ve heard all about Plesk, Helm and DNP, but there is some other good and more user-friendly panels at this list which I dont know why those has not suggested anywhere.
** Security is the most important thing for us.
** That should be a user-friendly panel (As many customers confuse when working with some windows control panels).
** Price is important for us too, Should be at a reasonable price like 15-25$/mo or 300$ onetime.
Merry Christmas Guys! :)

Helm > Ensim > Hsphere === Plesk >> Good panel but not much user friendly & quite expensive too
HostingAccelerator >> From long time didn't heard any activity from them
Dotnetpanel >> Seems to me Plesk own control panel ;)
Hosting Controller >> HC7 version is secure as compare to 6, its no doubt user friendly
spdfox 12-28-2007, 06:05 PM Helm and h-sphere .... very good.
boonchuan 12-28-2007, 09:06 PM Hosting Controller, it is the oldest controller around here, cost and support are both good with the support more often than not willing to go out of their way to help solve issues which may or may not relate to the controller.
Using them for ages, since 1999 or something like that, can't remember, highly recommended, still using them for Windows!
If you get CubePanel the free version is very insecure.
I recommend Plesk, depending where you get your dedicated server, some sites off Viruozzo & Plesk packs on the Windows OS.
Kindest Regards,

Hosting Controller good for windows? do you have a url to their official site? thanks.
1oneHost 12-29-2007, 01:31 PM Hosting Controller, all the way for Windows... The official website is http://HostingController.com .
boonchuan 12-31-2007, 02:11 PM Hosting Controller was orginally a Windows only controlpanel, therefore it is very strong in Windows, their linux version was out not too long ago.

mooodi 01-01-2008, 04:42 PM can you tell us which control panel you have found the best ?
boonchuan 01-01-2008, 06:02 PM My personal opinion would be Hosting Controller especially their latest version 7C
Saksher 01-01-2008, 06:31 PM Another vote for Hosting Controller... I really like the user interface and ease through which a novice user can operate through the control panel. I understand know they support MS-Exchange 2007.
Blessed.
DSD-Dan 01-01-2008, 06:34 PM I'd say Helm - Used it many a time before, never had any major problems with it. User friendly, does the job properly and never had any complaints from clients. However it does come with a hefty price tag unfortunately.
directhostinguk 01-01-2008, 07:39 PM I would go for DotNetPanel, easy to use great support and they don't have anything to do with SWSoft/Plesk
Helm is now part of SWSoft/Plesk so wouldn't be surprised if there prices go up.
Masud 01-03-2008, 08:07 AM I have used PLESK and quite happy with it! I surely will try Hosting Controller upon the recommendation of some hosting veterans!
Hamid Reza 01-03-2008, 08:33 AM Salam
Thanks guys, I personally prefer HostingController because of user-friendly control panel for customers and reasonable price for us.
That is 250$ right now, very good price in comparison with Plesk etc.
mooodi 01-03-2008, 09:30 AM Just to inform you that they have released latest build which include MS-Exchange 2007 support and HC Open API.
exposuresolutions 01-21-2008, 06:20 PM HostingAccelerator seems to have died. They haven't had updates or offered any support for a couple of years! I recommend you stay away from HA. We stopped trying to surive with it and moved to Helm 4. Now that Webhosting Automation, LTD.(Helm) have sold out to Plesk, we are a bit nervous about our future support and its development path. We purchased Helm durning a 50% off sale last year. Seemed to good to pass up at the time.
