Hello,

Does anyone sale servers with plesk or cpanel built in over redhat.

Or install them for free when you buy the software from them?

I hate installing software and want a full time reseller for this software to install everytime we sale a dedicated server.

Thanks,

Drop me a line,

Charles

I should explain better.

I want to buy a server and use it in my own data center. But I want the server to have plesk or cpanel allready installed over redhat.

Just a basic rackmount pentium 3 or 4

or

Is there someone that can install cpanel or plesk that resells the software if I buy the server myself.

Thanks,

Charles

If you hate installing software, then you shouldn't be selling dedicated servers.

Cpanel is easy to install, and I'm sure Plesk isn't that hard. Some Cpanel distributors will install Cpanel for you on request, and you can have Plesk installed for you for $150.

plesk is SUPER easy, you can pretty much take a default redhat install, and plesk will take care of the rest.

Wow your a nice guy ToastyX,

last I checked our 3000 customers love our company, even though we don't like to install software.

Sorry I like a good or bad argument sometimes.

It's just our plate is full with designing and HELPING customers.

And hiring people is well hiring people.

So to sub-contract is a option we are considering.

Thanks WiseOnline for the comment I will get a hold of you

Hello,

Dear friend, note that there's no one time fee for Cpanel... You have to lease Cpanel on monthly basis or annually. It's not like Ensim or Plesk to just pay around US$ 199.00 and have license for +500 domains.

I guess there are resellers who's leasing it for US$ 99.00 external ( at your server, which I suggest you to go for that ) and US$ 35.00 for internal ( in their server, NO never go for that, if their sever goes down, your Cpanel and all the hosted sites goes down ) however at external it's still the same, but you are happy that it's your fault not your Cpanel provider's !

Great Day!

Headmaster,

So who's selling Cpanel licenses that cheap?

I'm currently using Ensim and it doesn't even have half the applications that come with Cpanel.

So we were considering using Cpanel, rather, however the price is too expensive.

I.

Dang my url got banned.

It must be for bad spelling

Thanks headmaster for the input,

A question if you don't mind,

When you buy a external liscence can it suffer problems because of the reseller or is completly yours other than the payment.

Thanks

dwhsnet,

Yes it can suffer problems if the reseller does not pay its bills. Then your CPanel would be unavailable.

vevinet-ilir,

It's good to have both choice of Ensim WEBppliance 3.1 and Cpanel 4.9 if you can afford.

But you are making a good decision on moving to Cpanel. You can get info about who's selling Cpanel's licenses at:

http://www.cpanel.net/dist.htm

But once again, get the external once. And make sure that your server can suit the Cpanel's requirements.

A Cpanel installation is not recommended on a system which has been in service for sometime or has a previous control panel
on it.

Also, the partitions of your hard disk should be fine.

My suggestion would be to have the machine formatted within either Red Hat 7.2/ 7.3 Server install with the following partitions:

800 mb /
100 mb /boot
15 GB /var
1 GB swap
20 GB /usr
remaining space to /home

NOTE: you can install Cpanel on your current machine, however chances are that you will experience conflicts right away.

Please do let me know if you have any other question.
