View Full Version : PHP Support Software
thcoder 12-25-2007, 08:07 AM Dear, which PHP support software is best for ticket based support system. I did not like Osticket.
I am looking for free and open source software and offcourse in written in PHP (db: mysql).
would be nice if it has integrated Knowledgebase system but its optional for me.
thanks in advance.
thcoder 12-25-2007, 08:15 AM I just found trellis
http://www.accord5.com/trellis
seems to be nice. just testing it now.
thcoder 12-25-2007, 08:47 AM I am still testing it. So far I have discovered, its wonderful. :).
streamingarc 12-26-2007, 12:50 AM Yeah, Trellis is really nice. I used it on a few of my client's sites and they love it.
dnswatch 12-26-2007, 01:26 AM A few open-source ones from Fantasico;
Help Center Live

thcoder 12-26-2007, 01:58 AM Yeah, Trellis is really nice. I used it on a few of my client's sites and they love it.
hmm............everything were fine but i failed to pipe the mails. i followed their instructions but no way it worked.
doesn't piping work in php as apache module?
DataDork 12-27-2007, 05:24 PM how about eTicket?
Fizzadar 12-27-2007, 05:50 PM I could never get trellis email piping to work, I don't think it was finished when I downloaded it. We just use WHMCS now.
HostThree 12-27-2007, 06:03 PM Trellis is really good, especially since it's free BUT the email piping doesn't work, and you can open/close tickets when you want help.
Scott
streamingarc 12-27-2007, 07:59 PM Yeah, WHMCS is a good choice though. Can't wait until kayako releases the 3.11.02 version for WHMCS integration. I tried the CVS build but it's got issues.

You can also try Cerberus. The free version says
# You are limited to 3 workers.
# A brief Cerberus Helpdesk tagline is appended to outgoing mail.
# You must run the software on your own hardware.
streamingarc 12-27-2007, 08:01 PM I haven't tried eTicket, but someone said it was ok. It seems to be updated recently, and it's based off of osticket. Isn't Help Center Live osticket based too?
webr00t 01-11-2008, 12:53 AM I found Trellis earlier today because of this thread. I cannot believe how good this software is for FOSS. I've tried every PHP/Perl open source package out there, and some proprietary ones, too. This is by far the best of all. It installed like a charm and the email piping is EASY to set up in cPanel using the guide at docs.accord5.com
I'm having slight trouble with a few things, and Accord5's support forums are down, but even without community help I'm finding Trellis to be a breeze. Can't wait to see how it works when all my clients are using it!
rajuru 01-11-2008, 01:01 AM I found several bugs with Trellis.
1. suppose i give -1 in the "Show article in knowledge", it breaks
2. support I pipe support@mydomain emails to trellis. now, if somehow i send an email from support@mydomain to (myself) support@mydomain, the whole system goes unending loop until the mail quota is finished. thousands of mails are originating and also corresponding tickets for each mails.
most probably, they are very careful about lookup than its efficiency.
their forum and bug tracker is down, so i cant report them.
fs-itsolutions 01-11-2008, 04:57 AM I can recommend eTicket to you, too.
We have used it for 12 month now and we are very satisfied.
Monkeyshack 01-16-2008, 01:53 PM I have been using Trellis for a few months now and have been really happy. I got piping to work (using CPanel 11) it was a little tricky but it works great!
I have been a little concerned that there forums have been down for over a week now... I wish they would post something to let people know what's going on or not going on..
Aullo 01-16-2008, 03:20 PM try Kayako, its a little expensive but its woth it, im using it on my websites and its really good
