A few days someone pointed out a new UK domain registar, xreg (www.xreg.co.uk), because of their low prices. I pointed out that they had stolen their menu from www.segpub.com.au, and the next day it seemed the thread had been deleted (presumably by a mod, I don't know why  ).

Well, I passed the tip-off onto Jeremy, the owner of segpub, and he thanked me, saying he would contact vpod, owners of the site. Here is where things get dodgy - vpod claimed it was their menu, and segpub had stolen it! (A blatent lie  )

The story was picked up by Jeffery Zeldman (http://www.zeldman.com) and Waferbaby (http://www.waferbaby.com), both of which have widely publicised the case.

The result? Vpod have backed down and removed it, but think of the damage done to their reputation! Just goes to show the dangers of ripping off another site - www.pirated-sites.com is good read, it's amazing what people think they can get away with.

ripoffs :smash:

Why would idiotic people even TRY to get away with these kinds of things when they know that ere are supergenius people out there who will catch them? Maybe they should buy a brain with their illegitimately-earned bucks. Maybe then the Feds will decrease the punishment of their crime
