View Full Version : Best shopping cart? IMHO...PinnacleCart
I see many people in this forum repeatedly asking which is the best shopping cart.
Over the years of having to cover various shopping carts, I have been able to take a close look at a few of the leading appications. Having had to go through the full learning curve on each of them, I feel confident in being quite intimate with the functionality of each of them.
Having said that, I have to say that the top shopping cart script, without a doubt, has to be PinnacleCart (http://www.PinnacleCart.com). It has an incredible amount of features. It is extremely flexible, configurable, intuitive and user friendly. Whatever you want to do with it, you can pretty much do with a bit of tweaking. Very robust, very stable. Yes, it is more expensive than most. But well worth the money.
And again, IMO, the rest of the shopping carts (listed in order of preference) are:
Soholaunch (this is a sitebuilder with an integrated cart)
Zencart
Cubecart
OSC
Miva Merchant
Just thought I would share my thoughts.
HTH.

Farrukh 12-20-2007, 09:25 AM Hello Vito
How easy is it to skin Pinnacle cart ?
I do not mean just change the colors through CSS, i mean to change the layout completely.
Also, have you tried out Viart ?

Not sure how easy it is to do it, as I have not tried it myself, but you can definitely skin the design with whatever changes you like, as far as you like. An example of one that was changed is https://secure.askthebuilder.com/ .
As far as I know, PinnacleCart have a number of templates for sale, and there are also a number of third parties who also sell templates for the cart. And of course, you can also just do the work yourself. :)

I bought PinnacleCart and CubeCart. They are both good, but the new CubeCart version is not stable. Many many problems with the licence key and I have some bad bugs. That's life...
Pinnacle is good and stable.
kolakandeee 01-03-2008, 11:47 AM How do the above compare to agoracart? I am thinking of implementing it in a site soon...
Mandivas 01-08-2008, 09:29 AM I bought PinnacleCart
nmwsolutions 01-08-2008, 10:04 PM I use virtuemart with Joomla (which is very difficult to get working) and I've been paying a lot of attention to magento commerce, which is based on the zend framework. Tons of potential.
I use Cubecart and find the latest release 4.1 has fixed many of the initial bugs. There is one of the strongest forum community's to support Cubecart aswell.
Cube cart is very easy to skin with Little HTML CSS knowledge

Does anyone have a live pinnacle cart store to show, you don't really get the feel from a demo store.
Also what's the SEO like on these carts?
Or an example of someone else's pinnacle cart that has really changed the look of the cart from standard...
I want to know how much can be changed in terms of the visual aesthetics.

I agree but just out of my reach. Anybody here know of a reseller of the cart with a much lower quoted price?
Thanks in advance.
qodesigns 01-22-2008, 06:52 PM Hello,
We like to use OSCMax because it has ALOT of features and its not real hard to customize and it's free and stable. It's a spin off of the basic oscommerce but with TONS of modules pre-installed in it. www.oscmax.com (http://www.oscmax.com) You should try that!
To Vito:
I WISH you could provide demo's for this shopping cart. I would be HAPPY to pay top dollar for demo's of this cart.
Thanks,
Matt
webnetwork 01-22-2008, 07:31 PM i like the open source carts because first they are free and also good.....more likely because most of them they can be on php so i can use linux hosting....
To Vito:
I WISH you could provide demo's for this shopping cart.
Thanks,
Matt

qodesigns 01-22-2008, 10:55 PM THANK YOU VERY MUCH VITO! It would be a pure blessing if you could do tutorials for oscmax soon. I provide support for my clients who use it now but with a tutorial solution, it would help me out TRAMENDIOUSLY!
Thank You,
Matt
henri baeyens 01-23-2008, 07:10 PM AgoraCart is relatively easy, quite efficient, fast to set up and fine-tune. It's perl-based so linux is the ideal environment (hacking it for windoze is just a waste of time), and you need to have a little knowledge of perl. It's much better than those uber bloated php carts, imo.
Farrukh 04-16-2008, 10:34 AM I went with www.Viart.com
Its shopping cart + CMS + Helpdesk + Forum + Ads .All in one
Its extremely powerful, none compares it feature wise and it is quite fast.
